If there are females in the group, the males will make their shitty baseball caps face 90degrees skyward in some type of crude mating display and use their own language to attract a mate, using phrases like: "F***! Yur lu'in fit, bitch! Ho muuch fur da nite, blud" You will also see younger males perfomed this mating dance aswell, don't be shocked by this sight as, by the age of 11, most chavs have already had a child or an abortion.
Most chavs listen to "ganstazz" music from people that are usaully girls that show as much as flesh possible or men that talk fast about drugs, guns, booze and shooting people, which is all that stimulates a chav's mind. They all like to pretend that they are black but are also extremely racist as well.
There favourite pass-times include:
1.Listening to their "music"
2.Collecting STDs
3.Training their kids to steal from shops
4. Making fun of anyone who dosn't wear fake "designer" clothes and grunt all the time(e.g: emos greebos goths skaters etc)
5.Failing in school

I once was a youth worker and we had some gypsy girls come to play our girls for a football match. Now our girls were being a bit territorial in their attitudes, I was having none of it and I told them to make the visitors feel welcome. Great match,plenty of laughter and friendship I was so impressed with the gypsy girls conduct, a great bunch of teenagers. |

they can steal it. What I am saying is, my belief is that being a chav isn't a domain reserved for the likes who have come from council house roots. My view of a chav crosses into the term 'basic' i guess. Its not defined by wealth but status and taste. Am I the only one who thinks that way? |

Never heard snowflake used to describe chavs. If anything its those that would be describe as chav more likely to used the term to insult people who don't like prejudice. Same here. People call me posh sometimes because of my accent but I grew up in a council house that my parents bought. It was in Devon and mainly old people that lived around us. I was just brought up strictly by my mum as was a single parent from when I was 10. I never got into trouble, never had a detention, didn’t drink alcohol until after I left school, taught manners and respect for others. I’m just lucky I had strict parents but hated it at the time. |

I grew up in a single parent family on a council estate. I am completely different to my siblings as I have several degrees and own my own home. I grafted. They didn't. No silver spoon, no injection of cash from mummy and (absent) daddy. You take responsibility for your own path in life. |

What started as a bit of fun has degenerated into a typical fab forum fallout over a simple everyday term that we are all familiar with .
Who hasn’t walked past a McDonalds in the evening and seen a group of chavs outside it ?
And on council estates the groups that congregate are the bane of the neighbours life .
And yes I lived on council estates , and yes they were a pain . But of course that doesn’t mean every person from a council estate is a chav . Any more than than every person who comes from a posh background is a snob .
Some of my best mates are parents of kids who would be termed as chavs , and they are the first to admit that . But what can you do ? From groups of kids on bikes in their early teens to the late teens and early twenties boy and girl racers , chavs are here to stay . And they’re not all bad , like any group of kids than age , some are a proper pain but the majority are fine .
Don't you think this kind of discussion is useful though? It challenges stereotypes and makes people think a bit.

I grew up in a single parent family on a council estate. I am completely different to my siblings as I have several degrees and own my own home. I grafted. They didn't. No silver spoon, no injection of cash from mummy and (absent) daddy. You take responsibility for your own path in life."
I don't think its that black and white. Of course not everyone who is from a single parent family raised on an estate is doomed for failure. But as a child with no guidance and surrounded by negative social forces, you are more likely to be groomed or forced in some cases, to join a gang or commit knife crime. Some kids don't even get fed properly. Council estates aren't all created equally. Some are quite decent to live in yet some aren't safe and even the police have to tread carefully when present. So to suggest these vulnerable individuals failed because they chose to didn't try hard enough is wrong in my view. When you have little hope and the only way out appears to come from your local gangster, its quite likely these vulnerable, uneducated youngsters will succumb. |
