This man just dont quit, turns 75 on Thursday and is prepping his next exploit.. Five mile walk from Robben Island to Capetown... Piece o piss except the walk is on the seabed, so hes in full scuba and carrying a sonar deflector to fend off great whites.. Wouldn t mind but buggers got a thirteen year old child.. Don t think I could spawn a bloody rash let alone a baby... Good luck to him on exped... Mad, bad and dangerous to know

He was the celebrity on Top Gear a few years ago and car across very well, much better than most other guests. Never sounds ruffled by anything

"He is a genuine hero of mine. The man is a legend."

A real man... Even cut his own frostbitten fingers off with a handsaw cos NHS couldn t get it done without a long wait, but once he cut affected area off and blood poured A & E sorted the wound immediately

Sir Ranulph Fiennes was actually once up for the role of James Bond

And he cut off his own fingers and thumb with a black & decker.

Heres an interesting fact.. Ancestry wise, at Agincourt, he had family on both sides

One of my personal heroes. His talks are ace, and his books are just as good. His biography of Captain Scott is top notch, and Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know is one of my favourite autobiographies.

I’ll stop fanboying now.

I wonder what this true hero thinks of the scrotes running round our streets with knives right now.

In the middle of reading his book 'Cold'. Insane what he has achieved in his life. Got another of his books to read after and can't wait to get started
