There's a restaurant in a nearby town which has bison, crocodile tail, alpaca and python on the menu. Which of these, if any, would you order? Vegetarians and vegans obviously wouldn't order any of them but if you're not either what would be your reason to either order or not?

I've eaten bison and crocodile before so I think I'd give the others a whirl.

Is a little sampler plate with a bit of each an option?

I've eaten bison but not the others. I think I'd struggle with alpaca for no other reason than I'm not used to thinking of them in terms of food. I could never eat python for reasons I can't articulate also the menu said because they're constrictors the meat is tough.

It didn't give that option. Maybe four people should go and each order one so they could all share

I have tried many different meats on my travels. I own a butcher's shop and always look for something that little bit different while travelling abroad.. South East Asia have some very interesting food .. I'm going to Japan in 5 weeks so can't wait to sample the delicacies and delights.

Hillside desolate

I wouldn't eat the python for the simple fact I hate tough meat, it makes me gag. Id give the others a go though. Preferably someone else would order them so I can just try a wee bit.

I’m not vegatiran or vegan but neither of them sound appealing to me I mainly only eat chicken and minced beef occasionally I will eat pork. I’ve been a vegetarian before and hubs and son are always eating different meats but it’s just not for me they particularly like venison

That's the perfect idea, hopefully there isn't a case of 1 person hating theirs and wanting someone else's instead lol

Crocodile tail. Dependant on how it was served. Also dependant on where it came from.

I think this was served like steak with a sauce.

It's a safe bet to say that it came from a crocodile .

It's usually 'chuck' beef in a rich gravy encased in a suet crust and boiled in muslin

They are called 'rag' puddings cos in the good old days they used to be boiled in rags or tea towels

Trust me, one slice, about an inch thick, a few home cooked chips and some fresh veg and you know you've had a good plate of food
