Just saw this on Facebook as a friend shared the article.

The Met police want another £300,000 to continue the search for Maddie Mccann.

I feel really sorry for the kid if we ever find out what happened to her but to be honest, I'm getting sick of hearing this crap.

Why waste more money trying to find a girl that will probably never be found?

What are your thoughts on this?

Efforts should be made to find every lost child, not just this one

It has become something in the public psyche because of the sheer amount of coverage it receives

Her parents have become somewhat notorious, almost 'celebrities' in its most vulgar sense

Cynical me thinks, it gets people talking, it improves readerships and viewing figures

The disappearance of a child has been reduced to click bait

That is almost as abhorrent as the disappearance itself

I agree. I didn't look into the article as I'm up of seeing her parents' ugly mugs acting all sad and depressed.

When I said "acting", I meant as in putting on an act as that's what her parents are doing.

And to answer your question, I would be sad and depressed. I wouldn't act it for the papers and TV to get sympathy points like the Mccanns do.

I recall a few years back a lady went missing/killed. The landlord appeared on tv and ‘looked’ guilty as hell! The press and public went for him.

Turned out he was nothing to do with it whatsoever! People must remember the case, as it was only about 5 years ago. It was the neighbour actually.

Don’t ever assume you know. Best guesses and hunches built on media and perception are just that.

That would be Christopher Jeffries. He had crazy hair and strange mannerism's. It was clear to everyone he was guilty apart from the fact he didn't do it.

If the McCann's had been a professional layabout and a bingo player from Toxteth who had saved their dole money and collected vouchers in The Sun for their holiday, would the Met have taken any interest?

Totally agree. The first part is undeniable - and as a Dad of a beautiful Daughter unforgiveable. Even if no crime had been committed why would any caring parent leave a child vulnerable - what if they're sick unexpectedly? Don't know how they dare continue to call themselves Doctors. I wouldn't trust either.

I have extremely intelligent professional friends who used to leave their children in bed while one drove the other to the station in the morning. Stupidity isn't the sole preserve of the uneducated.

They’ve had help off Tony Blair and then Gordon Brown, and other top politicians. She wouldn’t even answer the police questions to help find her daughter, and there’s too many holes in their stories. I’m only going off the facts laid out in the police files, it makes uncomfortable reading. X

Because of the questions it asks. It's best to watch it and the one looking at their body language throughout their interviews. It was around tge time her book came out so looks into the language she uses in that too. Ive always been doubtful but it raises serious questions about their innocence.

Regardless of guilt or blame surely enough is enough. We don't even have primacy in this investigation, the portugese police do. And there appears to be no real leads and no real developments. Meanwhile numerous crimes go unsolved, the police are stretched t breaking point and even the most serious crimes have budget restraints on them. It's wrong to keep throwing money at this investigation

Straight out of Kate Mcanns own gob on going back to the villa that night to check on the kids - that they had LEFT - ALONE despite paying for the on-site babysitting service. She noticed a curtain moving in a breeze which meant a window was open. They hadn't left a window open and none of the children could have opened it. Did she go into the room to check on the kids properly? Did she go over to the now open window? Did she fuck. She just closed the bedroom door and went back out. Then there's the cadaver dog who smelled a corpse had been in their hire car. I could go on. None of what they say is approaching right. They've not only got away with murder for 12 years but also still have the twins. None of us mere plebs would have any kids now and would be nearing the end of a stretch at Her Maj pleasure.

I'm sorry but if you bring kids with you on holiday and leave them in your room on their own while you have a booze up is only asking for trouble and bad parenting its a sad thing what happened to the child and I do hope the sick bastard is found out but you have to look at it this way it would have never happened if the parents was present in the room like no wonder they were accused of having something to do with the child's disappearance

So tell me why, if the evidence is so overwhelming and so obvious, why they haven't been convicted and how have they managed to win numerous court cases when people have accused them of precisely what you have accused them of.

Are you saying the entire British and Portuguese legal systems are in their pockets. How did they get such amazing power?

Seeing as it was me who mentioned both these things I will assume that sarkey dig was aimed at me. At no point have I professed to be an expert. Far from it! But that stuff is interesting to watch/read. Are they innocent? Who knows. Can we afford to throw more money at the case? Well that is one for public debate and the point of this thread.

No idea how they've got away with it - and yes something in the legalities of both nations are "off" the McCanns have paid folk off and had evidence suppressed - and I'm not the only person (even on this thread) that believes they are guilty.

I've read the translation of the Portuguese police files, and details of the forensic evidence that the MSM chooses not to report. All point to the parents concealing the death of Madeleine (accidental or otherwise) and disposing of her body.

Unless this extra funding is being used to bring a prosecution against the parents, it's a total waste of money.

Sorry, clearly all the massive amount of police investigation goes for nothing compared to what people on a sex site have seen on a YouTube video or have observed of the mums body language on TV.

There's been a massive police investigation. If there was any real evidence pointing towards their guilt they would have been prosecuted.

Frankly saying that their body language points towards their guilt is ludicrous.

By all means, look at whatever you like, but if you say things like someone's body language causing serious doubts about their innocence, people are going to challenge it.

The McCann's have neither the wealth nor influence to be able to influence 2 independent judiciarys.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people seem to think that a doctor seems to hold the social influence to subvert a police investigation in this way.

I have no idea whether the McCann's are guilty but I can see no easy way for them to dispose of a child's body in a foreign country. Also almost all the conspiracy theories ignore that number of their friends are complicit in her murder and have somehow not cracked under the guilt.

They haven't won the most important case they brought against Goncalo Amaral - the policeman who headed the Portuguese investigation. The McCanns lost, and had huge costs awarded against them, and have tied the case up with appeal after failed appeal to avoid paying out.

The McCann's have neither the wealth nor influence to be able to influence 2 independent judiciarys.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people seem to think that a doctor seems to hold the social influence to subvert a police investigation in this way.

Gerry McCann has been involved in government scientific research, and what he knows could be enough to warrant the powers that be to cover up for him.

I have no idea whether the McCann's are guilty but I can see no easy way for them to dispose of a child's body in a foreign country. Also almost all the conspiracy theories ignore that number of their friends are complicit in her murder and have somehow not cracked under the guilt. "

The hire car mileage shows they made unexplained trips out of Portugal into Spain, they had plenty of opportunity. They also had the keys to the local church, where a cremation took place shortly after Madeleine's disappearance (there is absolutely no evidence of an abduction).

There are super injunctions in place against the 'Tapas 7', friends, relatives, neighbours and investigative journalists to prevent them discussing the McCanns or Madeleine, or portraying them in anything other than a positive light. Even a retired police superintendent who is a close friend of my family has told us he can't comment on the case - not he won't, he is unable to

if a cadaver dog did find a dead body smell trace in their hire car and is 100% true then was the car dna tested minutely (it may have been dont know but significant to me)

"Just saw this on Facebook as a friend shared the article.

The Met police want another £300,000 to continue the search for Maddie Mccann.

I feel really sorry for the kid if we ever find out what happened to her but to be honest, I'm getting sick of hearing this crap.

Why waste more money trying to find a girl that will probably never be found?

What are your thoughts on this?"

He can't comment on it because he's professional and it's an ongoing casee! You honestly think that the McCanns have somehow silenced the entire British police force is more plausible than that explanation?

And they drive across a border with the body on the boot? Then what? Having evaded customs what happened to her then?

And just about anyone can work out how to use a crematorium, cremate a body and not get noticed nor leave any evidence it's been used...

The problem with all the conspiracy theories is they don't stand up to any scrutiny.

"I recall a few years back a lady went missing/killed.

If the McCann's had been a professional layabout and a bingo player from Toxteth who had saved their dole money and collected vouchers in The Sun for their holiday, would the Met have taken any interest?"

Definitely not. Nobody in Toxteth buys The Sun lol

"Efforts should be made to find every lost child, not just this one

It has become something in the public psyche because of the sheer amount of coverage it receives

Her parents have become somewhat notorious, almost 'celebrities' in its most vulgar sense

Cynical me thinks, it gets people talking, it improves readerships and viewing figures

The disappearance of a child has been reduced to click bait

That is almost as abhorrent as the disappearance itself

I agree. I didn't look into the article as I'm fed up of seeing her parents' ugly mugs acting all sad and depressed.

If it was your kid would you “act” sad and depressed?

When I said "acting", I meant as in putting on an act as that's what her parents are doing.

And to answer your question, I would be sad and depressed. I wouldn't act it for the papers and TV to get sympathy points like the Mccanns do."

I would go to any lengths to find mine..whatever it takes

I do find it a strange coincidence that the paedophile Clement Freud lived not far from where Madeleine was abducted. And also that he invited her parents round after her disappearance.

I hope they do find out what happened to her, for her sake more anyone else’s.

I do find it strange that it’s always around this time of year more money is asked for and usually given, officers get to go off on a jolly, well I assume they work while they are over there but still.

No one knows what happens but this story has more holes than a bloody fishing net, I do feel sorry for other children that have since gone missing but have been forgotten about by the media and police etc, their families have to live each day not seeing their child and not having a penny spent on them but yet these two are quite happy for money still to be spent left right and centre, that’s not to be said if it was my child that went missing I wouldn’t be searching until the day I took my last breath and take away the ‘they killed her’ thing (because we don’t actually know) they are only doing what every parent would want but at the same time it shouldn’t be one rule for one and one for the other.
