In Asda earlier, I watched a girl of say 8 or 9 explaining to her Dad what a narwhal is

The guy looked utterly bemused. You could just tell he'd never heard of them

So, what have you learnt from your young 'uns recently ?

Being a bit of a geeky twat I think I'm quite savy with most things were others are not. However there are something's such as knowing what a "narwhal" is where I can probably get on quite well without such knowledge.

They explained what 'props' means. It turns out it's not the stuff you use on stage to dress a set or part of the business in the play.

My daughter is bilingual, so likes to teach me words, and have a giggle at my expense when I can’t get it right. In my defence...actually, there’s no defence, I’m rubbish at it, haha xx

Sometimes you gotta give the kids the win and pretend you don't know and they are teaching you things.

Although i had no idea what a split diagraph was until my niece tried to explain it.... She had a whiteboard and everything!

It is a member of the whale dolphin family but Its not actually a 'horn'. Its actually a 'tusk' or to be more specific a protruding canine tooth. They've been cut off and sold for years as unicorn horns.

I sometimes wish I had a young child to teach me things. For instance, right now I’d kill for a primary school child to come over and get my 3D printer set up and working properly. Neither hubby or I can do it and we’re certain that it’s going to as simple as setting up the vcr was for us when our parents first bought one and we’re clueless

Believe me, it's pronounced meem, they remind me of it daily...... I also remind them that I taught them how to use a spoon and wipe their own arses.

I learn daily from my boys, usually Fortnite or ROBLOX related trivia. Most importantly I just like to listen to them talk confidently about what they enjoy. Being a single dad it is important to make them feel like they have my undivided attention even when I know what they are telling me.
