Why do you do that?
Jump to: Newest in thread
If I am definitely not interested I try to delete immediately. If I don't delete, it means I want to go back and read the profile again when I have more time. But sometimes it all gets too much and I just stop replying to anyone - like now, 39 conversations - I just can't cope with that many. |

"What difference does it make if they get deleted or not though? "
A big difference for me at least I understand you’re not interested. Instead of leaving me hanging for days and weeks which has happened numerous times and that is after reading profiles which I do all the time. |

"Why do you ladies like to read and leave?
Okay I understand that ladies may get a lot of messages but is it really hard to delete them if you’re not interested?"
I always reply to first messages. If I'm not interested I say so. |

It's not personal. Sometimes we get so much mail that it's an avalanche. |

"Why do guys dwell? Could be anything from "I'm thinking about it" to "got distracted the cat's on fire". You don't and can't know. Don't dwell. "
Very valid point
I’m not dwelling I’m just curious on why. I mean you wouldn’t meet and say yes to somebody or friend and get back to them two weeks later |

Well that’s a lot. Well I’ve had a few read messages. But nothing back and I checked sometimes and it says two weeks even though on the profile says if I don’t delete I’m interested "
The simple answer; delete your sent messages, then you're not dwelling or constantly checking. It's much much simpler that way. If you do get a reply then it's a nice bonus. |

"It seems we can't win, can we!! Get abuse if we delete it and moaned at if we don't!!
I think that anything other than ‘ course I’ll fuck you’ is gonna cause some people to moan. "
That would be a great surprise |

"Why do guys get so hung up on it? The outcome is the same-no reply! "
I don’t think so. I just think delete if you’re not interested simple because it’s a clear definition and it saves a lot of hassle |

I think you make a fair point. Getting no replies is really shit. It can make you feel invisible- many men post about feeling this way.
I actually think it's pretty shit how few women have any shred of empathy about it.
A delete is a definite no. A reaction. Anything else is like tumble-wee'd.

Thank you thank you and thank you exactly what I’m trying to get across and I think we are adults we can take it put that on my profile as well |

I honestly don't see the difference. A no reply is clearly a no reply despite what happens to the message.
If they wanted to reply they would have and if they choose to go back and reply later then surely that's just a bonus? |

I tend to delete straight away if I’m not interested. If I don’t it’s because something has piqued my interest but I don’t have time that second to respond...then it gets buried under the metric fuckton of faf mails.
I feel terrible when I don’t, it must be tough just waiting to hear something. Deleting really is the polite thing to do. |

It genuinely must be difficult to keep up with all of the messages a lady on here can get. I’ve spoken to people who get several hundred messages a day....I know I struggle to keep up with my inbox at work with that volume of emails.
Personally I’m perfectly comfortable with treating a no reply, or a delete, as a signal of no interest. No offence taken by either, I’m not everyone’s cup of tea. |

Please don’t stress about it, if they don’t respond, whether they delete or not, take it that they’re not interested and move on.
You say you put it in your profile, but you’re assuming that they’ve looked at your profile to know that. They may not have. Again, something you shouldn’t stress about, if you don’t get a response.
You don’t know how many messages that lady has received that day, what has happened in her day- real life is very distracting, so it could be nothing to do with keeping you hanging, but a complete oversight.
Either way, if you dwell on it, you won’t enjoy your fab experience.
Forget the sent messages and focus on the received xx |

Thanks for that. Know the pitfalls of this place on the even going to start with replies it’s just the nature of the game |

It's not difficult, if you use your brain, and aren't lazy.
I manage it and I am rather lazy. |

Or you could spin it around and think, is it really hard for you to delete the messages you send, so you don't wonder? |

Send out hundreds of messages so that you lose track of who you’ve sent them to, therefore you’ll forget who hasn’t replied, thus avoiding disappointment. |
