Speak to the head at the school and then get back to your local authority. The head can have a bit of say in this.

My lad got his first choice, we are really pleased, now I feel 'old', because he's growing up! The mother's apron strings need to relent more......

Yep, my son got his first choice

There was one of his classmates who wasn't very happy this morning as she didn't get hers - when most of her friends did.

Filthy Fuckeryville

My son got MY first choice not his several years ago. He sulked for weeks.

About a year in he finally admitted it was a better school and he now is glad we overrode his wish to be with his 'mates' for a better school as they are all on very different paths to him in life.

The school definitely help mould him into the adult he now is at college and most certainly helped him achieve his A* GCSE results.

I hope yours all are accepting and succeed no matter where they end up x x

Hiding in the shadows

Long past this stage with mine now

But when was middle sons turn, after initially being told he had his place, it was withdrawn.

Specialist unit in a mainstream school, limited places and they'd had an application for a child with greater needs than him.

Local LA gave him a place at a totaly unsuitable school, even the Head agreed it wasn't the right place for him.

I took on the LA, 9wks of battling.

I won, the LA had to offer my son a place in an independent school as they had nothing that met all his needs.

If anyone hasn't got the place your child deserves, you do have the right to appeal, they'll drag you through hell, put every block in your path, they expect you to give up.

The fight is worth it xx
