Does anyone like Marzipan? I find it to be the most deceitful and stealthy of all the confectioneries.
If it's so good why is it always hidden under layers and layers of tasty icing. |

What you need is a German cake called Stollen full of dried fruit with strips of marzipan running through it. No icing at all. |

Helps the icing stick to the cake, also makes an even layer to ice. |

"Love it. Lidl sell bars of pure marzipan coated in chocolate, they're so good. "
Aldi used to sell them bars too but stopped getting them in, I will be stopping off at my local Lidl tomorrow while I'm at work |

Love it! When I was a kid I picked the marzipan off the Christmas cake and carefully put the icing back in place. I was in BIG trouble when it was discovered |

I get mine from Home Bargains (munching one at the moment ) but they only sell the plain version. Lidl used to sell different flavours - rum & raisin, etc.
I love 'real' marzipan, made with almonds - not the fake stuff, made with apricot kernels. |

After three years of Brexit we'd forgotten to have a marzipan thread."
Can’t wait for the continental almond tax!...
