Many many threads have been started on this subject...as a lady of a certain age, with bits that move when they shouldn’t, getting undressed in front of a ripped toned gym body can be some what off putting.
Dad bod every time for this kitten.
Great to look at on the screen (magic mike, ooof) but in real life ?? No thanks |

"Dad bod, for sure. I like the ex-rugby player look...broad and powerful still but not all ripped. "
That’s not a Dad bod though, that’s closer to muscle hunk. Dad bod is just a bloke who’s let himself go and has a beer gut, |

It it knackers ha! I have a Dad bod, but don't have a beer gut. I'm pretty toned, but my veins aren't popping out etc. Plus whilst I don't spent hours a day in the gym, my job involves a marathon of walking, carrying heavy shit and wrestling and hitting components into place for 12 hours plus a day usually which keeps me fit?
My body is "Dad bod" type. Obese guys aren't "Dad bod" they're just obese really. |

Dad bods were a body that was once a sculpted, chiseled frame degresses into a soft, flabby heaping pile of I Don't Give A Shit Anymore. |

As with curvy, there's no fixed definition.
Gym bod is fairly self explanatory I think, although the edges are hard to tell. (and is ripped a separate category?)
I've always taken "Dad bod" to mean a few extra pounds, not obviously gym going, but not seriously overweight.
I have a massive soft spot for ripped guys, but find many types attractive. |

I know there’s a chasm of room to interpret Dad bod but I was talking about my type of dad bod. The type I go for is most definitely not a muscle hunk. It’s a dude with the frame of a rugby player (broad mesomorph - brick shithouse type), but that isn’t training anymore. Let himself go a bit (because dude, I like to share my cake and I don’t want to be with someone who’ll have a coronary just thinking about carbs after 3pm).
Doesn’t have to have a beer gut, just be something I can cuddle into after a hard session that doesn’t leave rib or ab imprimts on my cheek |

"My own body is far from perfect so not an issue for me. For me a handsome face is more important "
One of the really formative meets I've had was with a gym fit guy, proper ripped. I'd put on a fair amount of weight and wasn't feeling good about it. He was so, so into me I can't even tell you. Really good for my confidence.
I'm sort of, I like what I like, but I don't expect to get it. |

I could do with a meet like that! |

I haven’t a clue what my body type is but right now I’m pretty content with it. I aim to shed a few more lbs over the next few months. But what you see is what you get. |
