Following on from the PTSD post , who here suffers from anxiety? I have for many years and recently lost my grip on it , I am lucky to have a great support network and I’m getting my mojo back but know how debilitating it can be . |

Thought I'd fixed mine but now wondering if it has cropped back up as performance anxiety...never was the most forward type but now I've started swinging and walk around clubs naked and wonder if its been secretly hurting my mojo? |

I actually visited my GP today who prescribed me 50mg Sertraline for anxiety & depression. Just taken the first Anti-Depressant in my life.
It's truly a horrible thing and I find it harder to deal with than depression. Glad to hear you are getting back to where you should be. Hopefully that's me, in say, 4-6 weeks |

I’m on the same, started on 50mg and after a month upped to 100mg I’m now on week 5 ( one week of the 100mg) and today is the first day I’ve had a spark and feel pretty good! For me it did get worse before it got better but stick with it , and keep talking to the doctor x |

Yes, I've been reading about the many possible side effects and how you need to weather the storm. So far just tiredness and a craving for junk food.
Doctor appointment in two weeks to catch up.

"Out of interest have you seen an anxiety therapist? They are not cheap but they do great work. They don’t cure anxiety but teach you how to deal with it"
I’m on the waiting list for CBT |

Be aware that Sertraline will most likely cause delayed ejaculation, sounds fun but gets annoying and tiring after a few months.
I'm on 100mg of Sertraline for anxiety/depression and 80mg of Propranolol for panic attacks just now, indeed not fun as there is still a lot of stigma and misunderstanding about mental health issues.
Though I have a good support network which helps.

I booked a doc appointment yesterday and saw her in the afternoon.... Went in with low self esteem.. Came out with anxiety and depression... I've never felt like breaking down and crying so much as I did yesterday .... Just explaining my troubles ... Things like losing my gran 2 years followed by the death of my brother in his sleep 2 months later. And recent girlfriends that ghosted me.... Gave me the silent treatment and I never found out why ... She disappeared to Manchester soon after. So I can't get Any closure from that so the doc says I should get over it .... And not by being negative about yourself but think positively. |

Are you happy with that? If you are then that’s great x |

Yup.. very up and down with how managed it is.. I'm lucky I have a good support network and a decent doctor. Very frustrating though when I feel incapable of doing stuff that seems to easy to others. |

I don't know really, I'm accepting all the help I can.... It's just from a thread yesterday that I posted things got out of control and I came to realise .... I'm not genuine or honest at all I'm horrible and disrespectful.... Because of low esteem and I felt like taking my personal problems out onto others in anger.... I thought to myself I needed help.... I'm not that person and don't want to be. |

I have been reading about ED issues arising from anti-depressants. Not really up-to-speed with delayed ejaculation, but I think I've had this before with viagra which is why I stopped using them. Is this a permanent side effect? |

I’m sure you are none of those things and the good thing is you have sought help , keep going back to the doctors if you need to that’s what they are there for x |

SSRI medication can cause sexual dysfunction but I wouldn't worry about it to much, delayed ejaculation is when you take an extremely long time to cum or fail to cum at all.
If you get any issues the best thing to do is speak with the doc, they can swap your meds for a different type. I've stuck with them just now even with the delayed ejaculation.
Mrs Tease thinks it's amazing as she is getting longer sessions, me not so much because I've realised how unfit I am |

Yes, I've had this before. The cock is raring to go while the rest of the body struggles to keep up Thanks for the info. Better step up the exercise then |

Might be a reason why I can last 6 hours ... I'm not on meds but if they give those sorts of problems I don't want them I don't want to add to the 6 hours..... |

Ive been on Sertraline for years due to anxiety. Came off them once but the anxiety crept back in like an unwanted friend.
150mg daily. They do help. Without them my mind runs to fast. Panic attacks etc.
Now 99% of the time im my old self. They do not make me happy just normal.
Sexually they make me last longer and i can cum a few times without losing my erection. Although for the first few months i could not get an erection at all !

I have some as the result of depression (as do 25% of the population), but it can be treated by asking yourself what is the worst that can happen, has it ever happened? Do this with other people around you who know you. |

It can take longer than that and if sertraline doesn't work for you go back and there are others they can try. I hope it helps though. hugs xxx |

I’m on venlafaxine and carbamazepine for my bipolar. A combination I’ve taken for years that does work. I’ve recently also started taking CBD oil to help, which is working xx |

I suffer and take venlafaxin. I’ve been given cbt which did help my anxiety but I have other issues that need help. The nhs won’t help so they just give me meds. Waiting till I can afford it to go private.
It’s hard work being up and down all the time. My anxiety is playing up so I know how you feel right now. Always happy to chat if you need an ear to bend x |

There is a huge waiting list where I am for CBT unless you go private and trying to see a CPN even worse. Sadly not enough resources for mental health on the NHS! |

I was put on a list, when I saw him again 6 months later he asked me if I’d seen anyone yet! I said NO, I was a bit shocked no one from the mental health team had even contacted me. |
