Why is this encouraged? And who is selling it to them?

I think you need to flesh this out a bit to be clearer OP.

Victimhood only works when the perpetrator is a white male.

And if it isn’t, just say that it is anyway.

Victim of what?

Circumstance?

Murder?

Bullying?

Domestic violence?

Emotional abuse?

I've been a victim and I'm far happier being a survivor ta very much.

I don't like the term victim.

"Is it so they get sympathy or for financial gains?"

I think so.

Some "play" the victim, some twisted excuses for humans in an attempt to lure others. They feed you warped truths.

You can't believe all this bad stuff has happened to them and you want to fix the world for them.

Years later you discover you've been played like a fiddle.

Turns out you're their victim and you didn't even see it coming.

Narcissists are finely tuned individuals.

Being offended and becoming a victim is just in your face these days. I detest it. I think its a failing of society. Who has been encouraging this way of looking at things? And why? I'm not sure, that's why i ask.

Victim card is deployed far too often when losing arguments.

"Victim card is deployed far too often when losing arguments. "

Thing is, it detracts from actual victims. It just becomes a joke term. Crying wolf.

Parents not wanting to parent. Those that blame everyone and everything for their child being upset because it's easier than taking responsibility and teaching kids that shit happens.

I remember when KFC couldn't get any chicken and one family tried to sue KFC for wasted time and their kid being heartbroken after it had been promised dinner there to find it closed. Tough. Shit happens.

Also, the where there's blame there's a claim culture.

"Oh my child was running round the supermarket and caught its head on a shelf"

Yes you moron, that's what happens when you don't teach your kids that a fucking supermarket isn't a playground.

Easier to blame others than take responsibility. If they take responsibility they'll see they aren't flawless after all, and low and behold.... they may actually need to make an effort

Nah, that's where "caregivers" make kids ill or fake sickness in the child etc so that the child is given attention.

I think that's the one anyway.

Might be some of the same people who offer the victim protection.

Im quite inspired by Candace Owen.

Might just be munchausen without the proxy then. Very difficult to diagnose too.
