a tip here for you all ... there is a website called "say no to 0870) google it and enter the company you want to speak to. it gives alternative numbers to call, some of which are direct to some peoples desk with no automated answering. it includes gas / electric / b.t. / mobile phone companies etc etc |

this is not about cheaper .. its more about cutting out the automated systems in use |

iPhone app also available
And on my phone plan is definitely is about cheaper as well since 0870 and even freefone 08 numbers are charged to my minutes allowance. |

yes, i know that, but it gives ordinary landline numbers as an alternative to 0870 type numbers, thus avoiding the queuing in an automated system and in some cases, rings the phone directly on someones desk so you are answered straight away |
