So looking at the isis schoolgirl thread a few people the op included have done this.
Im curious why the hell you would also is there no auto timeout on a post being held open to allow you to bypass the limit? |

I’ve seen the very occasional post get into the 180’s and be posted hours after post 175. If it IS deliberate then I can only imagine they think it makes them cleverererer than the rest of us mere mortals who stop at a meagre 175? |

You just have to open the reply page before it hits the limit and it will go through. Im curious how many people have done this for hours/days |

I've done this a couple of times unintentionally. I'd start typing a post and the phone rang or someone called to the door and it could have been 15-20 minutes before I'd finish it and hit send, resulting in a 175+ post long after the thread had officially closed. Some may like to have the last word, others may just have been distracted and late submitting a comment... But it happens, especially on fast-moving threads |

oooooooooo I just checked, and to me, to be able to reply to post 177 with post 178 does suggest that it was a deliberate act as one only replies after the thread is full and therefore must have had a window open long prior to post 177.
Dangit M'lud ........ now we need to read the statute and decide a fitting punishment. Which volume holds references to this heinous act ? |

I didn't even know this was a thing until quite recently after I noticed people were sometimes posting hours after a threat had closed.
Somebody told me that you can get a time out if you do this but I don't know if that's true or not.
Personally I would never deliberately leave one open just so I could have the last word. It's happened to me accidentally where I've been the 176/177 poster but as others have mentioned it's just where I've been typing and The Thread has closed without me realising. |
