Hello. There is a way of doing a picture search to see if an image on Fab has been lifted from the internet. Can someone tell me how to do this please. Thanks.

There and to the left a bit

There are several tools OP:

Google Reverse Image - if you're using Chrome as your browser all you need to do is click on the picture and select "Reverse Image Search" from the menu.

TinEye - you have to either copy/paste a link to the pic, or download the pic and upload it to the site for it to work.

There's also one other that I recently discovered that works really well - not sure if a link to it is allowed but if you Google "Reverse Image Search" it's the one labelled PrePost SEO that's third or fourth in the list of results.

Couple of things to remember though:

Just because a reverse image search gets a hit, doesn't automatically mean the pic is "borrowed" and the profile fake - some people do post pics elsewhere - however a little common sense and further digging and you can usually tell e.g. If that pic gets multiple hots on multiple sites then it's likely "borrowed"

Likewise just because a reverse image doesn't get a hit doesn't automatically mean It's not borrowed - the reverse image tools cannot search every corner of the internet in the time it takes them to return a result - likelihood is they only search at the top level of sites at best. Also if a pic has been cropped or altered in any way, it won't always get a hit.

If you suspect a pic is borrowed, or a profile is not genuine, the best tool available is your common sense and instincts

Oh and if you come across any that are clearly borrowed, then do report them so admin can investigate and take action if necessary.
