i'm hearing a lot about eagle eye cameras
i drive for a living , clean licence.
apparently they can zoom in from a long distance
sending out charge notices for smoking whilst driving , eating ,obviously and rightly so for having phone in hand , even scrolling around on sat nav , etc etc
anyone else heard this
iveseen to yellow dome shaped cameras half way up lamposts on the A10 BY ENFIELD .
im pretty sure they have to put a sign up saying cameras in operation saying what there for ?  |

Technically speaking what you describe could be done.
The practicalities of actually rolling it out would be prohibitive. Roadside cameras only way of zooming in is if it is being constantly monitored by a person, or if it has spotted a speeding vehicle and zooms into the numberplate.
Just think about how many hundreds of vehicles pass every camera in the course of a min, even if every camera had a dedicated "watcher" there is no way they could see any of what you describe in your post.
AI may be able to at some point, but we are many many years away from that yet............in fact all of us may well be dead and buried before AI is good enough to get a conviction. |

It's like spot the ball I heard
Put x here
It detects movement or the screen lit up on a phone .
Probably at traffic lights it's more in force
I'm only going by rumours hence I posted
Would love to know if there's any truth in it or is it scaremongering |

Cctv for street cameras in London and big cities is monitored 24 hours a day
I've seen the huge control rooms on these camera action documentary
Like wise I often see the cameras operators swivelling round zooming in on people uo to no good ..
I think you'd be surprised ..Eagle cameras are on drivers case re smoking eating drinking etc whilst driving .
The monies collected by fines issued will treble the cost of salaries required to pay operators wages .
If a phones 6 points on your licence I wonder what smoking and eating will be ...swigging out your water bottle !!!
Not many of us know the laws ..like illegal to smoke in a car if anyone under 17 is a passenger. .
Laws are created without drivers knowing |
