Yeah, not the sexiest of subjects, but I have a question.

I'm looking to buy some second-hand car parts, and I've just noticed what I think might be a bit of a scam.

Hopefully someone can tell me if I'm right or not.

I look at the quotes, and lets say for arguments sake the price is 50 quid.

Then they say its a tenner for delivery.

All good so far, but then they add VAT, and its on the total (part plus delivery), surely they should add the VAT to the part cost, and then add the delivery charge?

Courier companies have to charge VAT on their services, the seller is simply passing the cost on to you

Ok, so they aren't trying to pull a fast one, fair enough, don't mind paying it if its all above board lol.
