A true professional if ever there was one. At the time of the 1966 world cup, goalkeepers were treated as "2 a penny" by nearly all top football clubs in the UK and were paid next to nothing. Banks changed all that and Shilton, who he mentored took keeping to another level altogether. RIP |

Gordon Banks was self taught so for me he stands head and shoulders above any of today's lot. His sense of positioning in his box was second to none |
