Yeah will start using fruit as an alternative. I love kiwi so will pick up a couple of dozen today. No soft drinks of juices either. Just water! And coffee!

I hate sweeteners but did have a period of no sugar and lost a lot of weight.

I fell off the wagon and put it all back on, and more.

Sugar is my enemy at the moment.

Do you buy processed meals or sauces in jars? They can be loaded with sugar.

Stewed apples are nice mixed in porridge as a natural sweet element.

Beware using fruit to get your sweet horas this has fructose on it and if over eaten can negate the benefits of no sugar diets.

Is it just sugar your cutting or carbs too?

Also. Cooking fruit or processing it in any way makes the sugars more available to your body so could cause sugar highs and lows after.

Instead of quitting all sugar, it'll may be easier for you to cut one or two things with high sugar rather than trying and cut out everything at once or you will just crave it.

Reducing from 2 spoons down to one, then a 1/4 spoon in your coffee for instance over a longer time for but cutting fizzy drinks means you'll still have an intake but one you'll be in control of. The idea being you wont yoyo and will cut other high sugar products.

See how it goes. I'll get a couple of sugar cubes and give them a licking if I get too bad.

Better now. But I felt really tired and fuzzy the first few weeks. It's amazing what sugar does to your body and how it effects you when you cut it out of your diet...

"No sugar as in no refined sugar?"

No sugar whatsoever... well no added sugar by me. If it's in something I buy as in prepacked salads etc then that's unavoidable.

Been on a no sugar, and low carb diet since Easter. When I say no sugar I mean no sugar, no fructose, lactose, glucose or any sugar. I stopped drinking caffeine at the same time and now only drink lead free!

Coffee tastes shite though; like fucking muddy water.

Still have a drink now and again!

Just be careful not to upset the balance.... don’t end up on a sugar low level and kick in insulin high.... take it steady

Camberley occasionally doncaster

I've been doing (almost) no sugar for nearly a month. I used to belt feed tea with 2 sugars every day. I'm now down to 2 cups with 1/2 sugar. Reckon I have cut out at least 15 tsp a day. I've swapped out hot water and lemon for a lot of it.

I lost 4kg in 4 weeks. But I eat really clean as a rule, and train 5 times a week.

Fruit is still good to eat - it's not the same as refined sugar.

We hardly ever have sugar in the house - stopped adding it to drinks & meals a few years ago. Now find lots of things taste too sweet.

Dried cooking apples are the best.
