Bebe Rexha is a size 6 to 8 (so the papers say) and she's pissed off because some designers said she's too big for their designs and they wouldn't make her a dress for an awards ceremony.
Should designers have to make clothes for all sizes of women? |

"How many adult women are a size 4 or less? Who do these designers make dresses for I wonder.
"
Very few people.... That's why the charge so much for their clothes. They can't spread the cost over as many garments lol |

Surely that's just potty? How reflective is less than size 8 to the population? Having said that it's my understanding that fashion shows are often a place to show of concept clothing rather than what the label will release on the high street. And I guess that's the problem, they are selling a concept that less than size 8 is perfection which I just odd. I do wonder why the designers and fashion industry still (even if now on the sly) prize super skinny as the ideal? Maybe it's the idea of rare and hard to obtain body size that seduces them? Maybe they link the idea of rare unobtainable body size to having exclusive clothing? |

But high end fashion or couture houses aren't representative of high street fashion are they? |

"No. They shouldn't. Instead of running down the disigners that wing dress her she should promote and give air time/column inches to those that do. "
She wore a fabulous red dress by another designer. |

It's not unobtainable, there's still some models that size as they use in them their fashion shows.
I do agree and think it's more a 'concept'/ idea of what will be released on the high street. |

"USA size 8 = UK size 10.
Just so we have an accurate indication of the sizes being talked about here."
Perhaps she means USA size 8 as she's American. Fair point. |

I think designers should be able to make clothes for anyone they like. The world of designer clothing is separate from what most of us know and I think most of us know that and are able to realise that it isn't reality for the majority. |

"When I read the article, I thought is said she was a size 12, not an 8, unless I am thinking of the wrong actress."
It was the American size(s) that were quoted which I think is equivalent to a UK size 12-14 |
