So I’ve been thinking of getting a smartwatch but is it really worth it?

Do you own one,do you use it to it’s full potential or just as a watch??

So real world issues here I know!!

Is a fitbit a smart watch? I have one of them it's great. I use it to point at the app and moan about how little sleep I've had.

I treated myself to the Apple series 4 a couple of months ago I love it. Ideal for me as can’t use a mobile at work so I can’t see if I get any urgent family msgs, emergency calls etc the only thing I find frustrating it’s quite limited with apps however I do seem to get a couple of new ones weekly even if they don’t specifically interest me.

Neither of us would be without ours!

I have an iPhone and Apple Watch. Previously had an Android phone and watch, changed phone and kept the watch for a while. It kinda worked, I got notifications of texts, emails and phone calls but that was it, none of the other functions worked. I quickly sold it and bought the Apple Watch.

Hubby has an android phone and a really smart looking Michael kors android watch, looks just like a normal watch.

We both use a lot of the functions, particularly for tracking health and well-being.

I have a Samsung one. It tracks my sleep and steps, is my alarm clock and I can read texts and answer calls with it.

There aren't a huge amount of "useful" apps on it, but it is handy in meetings when I can screen my calls. The handiest function by far is when I use Google maps. It will show directions, distance to turns and street names, so I don't look like a tourist / easy target when I'm walking in an unfamiliar town.

I wouldn't go back to a normal watch

And the handiest function ever is that if I leave my phone at home by mistake, if I connect to a wifi network I can still make and receive calls!

I use the Samsung galaxy watch with my s9 plus mobile.

I like that I can leave my phone and payment cards all at home as I dont carry a handbag so nothing to carry around.

I use it for tracking exercise spinning, strava or swimming.

Helps with calories used, steps, sleep etc.

Great for texting, email, whatsapp etc.

Only thing I dont like is when receiving calls its like being on hands-free (great for the car though) so you need wireless headphones but I dont want to carry them around.

Having never used any fitbits or smart devices before I love it and I'm sure once I get back into real training again it will be brilliant.

It's a from me.

It's a yes from me, I use a galaxy gear with an S9. Super handy for seeing who is calling/reading messages during meetings. In the cinema I can read a message without pissing people off getting my phone out.

It's a no for me. I have a smart phone that does me rightly. Plus, I don't want to be straining my eyes trying to read texts on a tiny watch screen

I've got the Samsung S3 Frontier & love it.

The only issue I find, & it's common with all smart watches, is that if you don't turn the notifications off in meetings, for example, it'll keep buzzing you.

This then leads to you checking your watch, which makes it seem like you're checking the time.

I often feel that it looks rude, like you're bored & have more important things to be getting on with.

Forgot to add, you can turn the notifications off for periods of time which stops you looking rude.

Wish other people would do the same from time to time.

Also, I bought a nice brown leather strap which matches my belt & shoes. It looks the nuts!

Adds a touch of class to it.
