Is it my fault?

Is it my fault that someone I chatted to for a while didn’t know that I’m married?

My profile has always said that I am.

I’m being accused of not being upfront because I didn’t say that I was in my messages. Relationship status hadn’t come up so I had not avoided the subject either.

I understand it’s a big no no for a lot of people and respect it’s not for this particular person...but I don’t think I’m to blame either haha

It’s clear enough on your profile you’re married

Women expect men to read profiles but don't always read them themselves. You've been clear in your profile

Exactly this! Double standards unfortunately.

Not your fault. It's clear as day in your profile and was remiss of the woman not to read it.

I wouldn't think to say I have a partner as it's in my profile. He is on here and we have a couples profile too. I must admit it is not something I put in messages and wouldn't think to either.

Lesson learnt by the other person to read a profile and not just perve pictures

Why don’t you discuss it with that person directly ?

No it's clearly there. If people don't read profiles it's their fault if they don't get the information you've given.

Unusual for a woman not to read a profile before chatting. Are you sure it wasn't a guy?!!

It’s as clear as it could be. Not your fault that they didn’t read!

I have discussed it and that’s how I got the blame.

I ended the conversation after that as I didn’t think it was worth an argument

If they didn't read your profile after getting into a good conversation with you then I'm afraid it's their fault not yours, don't blame yourself for something that isn't your fault

It was a couple sorry I didn’t specify in my original post and they had approached me to meet

Your profile is short so she couldn't say that she missed it, so no, I don't think you're in the wrong.

Nope. Not on you. If they read your profile there's no way they could have missed it. Perhaps they either they didn't read it or they changed their mind but didn't like to say. Whatever the reason, its not down to you misleading anyone.

This could still apply to a couple. Or maybe one didn't read it until recently and vetoed you.

I've had this before many times on many platforms. It clearly says on my profile that I'm in an open relationship. If people don't read it before messaging me that's their fault.

Calderdale innit

Like someone else said, maybe only 1 of them read it initially then the other party said not for them.

Still you have been upfront so not your fault.
