Use Glyphosate, normally sold under the trade name Roundup amongst others.
Unfortunately the stuff available for domestic use is pretty hopeless. You should look for something that contains 360g/l of active ingredient. If you're friendly with a local farmer or landscaper see if you can ponce some from them. |

Both Paraquat and Diquat have been banned from use in Europe. |
