Anyone else have trouble sleeping? I either can’t get to sleep until the early hours or I doze off but wake at 2 ish and then I’m awake for 2 or 3 hours!

I'm a dreadful sleeper. Was recommended by a friend a few nights ago to listen to 'brown noise' and had the best 2 nights sleep I've had in ages!

Sounds like me. Take ages to dose off then end up waking 50 thousand times a night

I've always had trouble sleeping... I don't produce the natural sleep hormone so I'm a nightmare... however over the years I've learnt to manage it.

in used to 4 hours ish sleep. Every so often I crash for a day but I managed to do my degree with several small children as I just used the lack of sleep for more hours. I normally learn something.

I do find melatonin helps but can't take it all the time x

to be fair you should try not to stimulate your mind if trying to sleep.

Sleep music.. and concentrating on your breathing can help. If I can't sleep I do get up and do stuff then try again a bit later.

I feel a bit daft about it because we've really clicked over the last week or so ... chatting every day and we only said goodnight on the phone 1/2 hour ago, both really excited. But now ... the nerves have kicked in big time lol!

excitement's understandable, I'm quite laid back so I don't suffer from that often . but when I cant sleep I try to count star's in my head.

If put the porn on, I'll be tempted to play ... tire myself out so much that I fall into a deep sleep and forget to wake up for my 'meet'

I went to my friends party tonight, got a bit pissed and was home in bed by 11pm..... But this god damn, mother fucking wind rattled my windows so loud it dragged me from my beauty sleep and now I'm wide awake and dealing with a hangover far earlier than I'd anticipated!

Why do bad things happen to good people lol

Oooh. 2pm is related to stress and anxiety I was told (or read it somewhere). It’s up to you if you buy into that. I used to wake at that time.

I’m now waking at 3pm now, get tired enough to nod off again at 6pm. this has happened over the last week, the only saving grace is,

I could tell you lots of films not to bother with on Netflix

Central Scotland

I read an article recently about bi-phasal sleep and how sleeping 8 solid hours is a recent human development. Before that, people would sleep earlier in the evening and wake around midnight/1am for a few hours. It was an accepted social time - people would meet, have a meal, have sex! Then go back to bed for their second sleep. Lots of references to 1st and 2nd sleep in books and essays just a couple of hundred years ago. We don't evolve that quickly so it makes sense to still do it sometimes.

Since we stopped it we have started living considerably longer though... Maybe not something to keep up long term

V x

No, I’m half Irish half German I think. I feel like a teenager, I think that’s better than when I was one.

Going through box sets like no tomorrow. Crappy films are wearing thin as I’m not bothered to watch them alone, I save the good ones to watch together.

I'm certain that the social media scene,,,in this case fabswingers,,,has a negative influence on your sleep. It can and will mess with your brain,,then of course it will affect the health of both your mind and body.
