One piece and two piece leathers in the photos on my profile, but bikes are tucked up in the garage until the ice and salt are gone.

It was 1.5k with 4 years no claims and a clean license when i got it in august

Seems insurnace companies just feel people who buy a bike with a supercharger on it are not the most Responsible of people lol.

Its actually been a pretty good winter until last week, my winter hack is an FJR which has lots of easy to clean plastic. I was riding it in December in my summer jacket, switched to winter clothes around xmas. But I don't need to ride them if the temp is below 5degrees I tend not to, more for the salt damage than anything else.

Insurance on mine is only £350 for the 4 bikes, but that is the advantage of being really old

"Am I doing well paying around £100 to insure my '93 Blade then??"

Very well I would say, also good that you have a 26 year old blade, most got crashed before the first MOT! My oldest is an 06, but that does have 120,000+ miles on the clock.

I do pay more to include European breakdown, but all my bikes get used over there a lot, regular rides to Berlin, as well as normally a month or two touring. Though this year I am heading to the USA for a 2 month ride. So probably wont be in Europe as much, assuming we are allowed more than 30 days visit post Brexit. Though I am going to add a week in Belarus to my next Berlin ride. Never been there interested to see it.

Good to have an appreciating classic ... never thought the Blade would be described as such.

I've had it since '96 ... and one of the rarer twin spot black and orange colour schemes.

Certainly don't do the kind of mileage you're saying ... maybe why it's cheaper

The other bike is only 150 fully comp.

Looking for a new / 2nd hand bike, have had everything from a Superdream to a Triumph Speed Triple. What really scares me is I’ve been checking out BMW’s, as I quite like the no hassle of shaft drives, although I’ve been eyeing up a VFR800 and Triumph ST 1050. To be modern or comfortable

H2sx is very comfortable simmilar seating to an odler vfr.

If your looking at a new vfr id take a look at the kawisaki z1000sx.

Cheaper, lighter and more powerful more of an upright position though
