And there it is in a nutshell - no-one responds positively to the word fat.
So podgy women call themselves curvy, and podgy men say they have a dad bod, or are rugby build, and no end of people respond positively to both of those description. I guess it's a little like political correctness, in that some words just have such a strong negative association that it's almost pointless trying to use them. |

I guess it's subjective. Like where does a 'Dad bod' start and end and where does 'fat' start?
I personally hate the word fat but I know I am, though prefer to call it a Dad bod, I wish there were more descriptors! |

I kinda wish there were less.....whatever description you use, someone else will have a different idea of it in their head so there is no point worrying about what anyone else thinks, and to be honest, there is DEFINITELY no point putting up a thread to moan how other people aren't using the word correctly (ie according to your own narrow view of how it should be defined).
Not meaning the current one - there's always someone complaining that too many 'mingers he wouldn't look twice at down the pub' are calling themselves curvy (or athletic in the case of men.) |

I can't disagree with you there, I guess people will end up just making up their own mind about you. |
