Anyone who believes in ghosts are nuts. There's never been one bit of prove in the history of mankind. And have you noticed they all seem from 100s of years ago.

Put it this way the number of people in history that's died you wouldn't have room to move if costs are real.

There is no more evidence for ghosts than the first time they were talked about. That must mean ghost hunters are pretty shit.

Also what I've noticed is ghost hunters or believers like to try and use science to explain ghosts. When that same science is used to completely disprove ghosts and then science is wrong hahaha delusional

Or grow cultures?

Atoms csn also be "seen" with the corrwct equipment hell IBM eveb made a little animated film of a boy and his atom pushing individual atoms with an electron microscope.

I believe that’ there is an afterlife, would not strictly call them ghosts, the human soul is an energy, the body is a vessel to carry the energy, the body dies but energy is ever lasting moving from one plane to the next growing in strength each time. What people perceive as ghosts are an unhappy energy not ready to move on to the next plane.

I don't believe in Ghosts like "Whoo, whoo" white cloudy things or creepy dark figures which roam around in the darkness.

I don't think we can quite understand what is happening when something "strange" occurs. We humans are no longer attuned to our complete environment and we do NOT get much practice at initiating ourselves into how to recognise or even properly experience encounters with the "other" world.

As youmight gather, I am a believer in some kind of "other" world/ dimension. Science tells us such invisible matter and energies are around us. We simply do not know how t see them or even understand what they are or how the physical world we exist in might be interacting with it.

I have had quite a number of starnge experiences. Very odd feelings, strange geographical coincidences, some "messages" coming through as "ghostly jokes". Nothing harmful just a bit like nudges, jokes and pokes from "the other side".

More like 15-20 thousand years.

Bur no theres no equipment that can measure whst doesnt exist.

If it was "energy" no problem 2 sexond job to test for all of that stuff.

Thermometer, couple of photosensors (given humans can see them a simple camera will work for this) microphone, giger counter, RF antenna, hall probe for magnetics.

Thats pretty much a broad spectrum of most forms of energy.

Unless ghosts use gravity to do stuff that selection covers everything a human can do and much more so of humans can detect ghosts that lot should.

But given people see and hear them a cameraphone with a thermomoter covers most bases

We all have guardian angels looking after us in some way or another to make you smile, laugh and cry, but always liking after us

Essex.

I'm not sure either way.

I have seen and experienced a couple of things that I can't explain but it doesn't mean there isn't a logical explanation.

My dad has experienced a couple of things he can't explain and you couldn't meet a more level head sceptical person.

I think there are too many sightings to totally dismiss it but on the other hand the human brain has a tendency to see what it wants to see.

In the name of the holy spirit

And the holy ghost

I was taught that in school so to me why does a country/goverment etc teach you that yet people don't believe .

Also there's like 25,000 churches in the UK ..all preying to something on the other side ..That's a lot of people back in the day into it all

"Not at all. There is no evidence for it, other than eyewitness accounts, which are unreliable, and can be induced by any number of other phenomena which can affect human perception and memory

Yeh obviously you have never had something’s by happen to you!!

That’s expected I guess"

That is correct, I haven't. But even if I did, why would I jump to the conclusion that it was ghosts or the supernatural? It could be any of an number of other phenomena that caused the experience - perhaps my brain seeing a pattern that isn't really there, an hallucination, some physical event that I don't understand or have knowledge of. A one-off event wouldn't prove anything and would be impossible to test. It would neat to be repeatable and allow me to rule out all other possibilities before concluding it was ghosts.

"Ok so you don’t believe ??

I have had three experiences one takes to long to explain, this other is true, over my sister in laws cottage one sat night, was told it was haunted but never felt anything tbh

So I go for a pee, as I’m peeing the sink taps turned on full, not a drip, full on!"

We know that taps can do that for reasons other than ghosts, so did you rule out all those possibilities first?

"I believe that’ there is an afterlife, would not strictly call them ghosts, the human soul is an energy, the body is a vessel to carry the energy, the body dies but energy is ever lasting moving from one plane to the next growing in strength each time. What people perceive as ghosts are an unhappy energy not ready to move on to the next plane. "

And where is your evidence for any of that?

Yes it does. I know and fully understand what I've seen and witnessed.

I'm sorry to say this but I find you rude trying to dismiss what others have seen. Just because you haven't seen anything like this, doesn't mean it didn't happen and it doesn't mean we can't understand it.

One such experience was my aunties boyfriend who died in his 20s during a fit. Both he and my aunt lived in my grandparents spare bedroom for a while.

My aunt was still living there and I was sharing her bed. I woke to hear her talking. She was still sleep but kneeling next to her stroking her hair was her dearly passed boyfriend. I recognised him clear as day!

My aunt was pregnant with his first child. I believe he was there to bring comfort my aunt.

I don't expect you to believe. But please stop dismissing others and trying to tell them they can't possibly understand what they've experienced. I did and I do!

When we first moved into our old cottage....it was just me and my 2 kids, my little boy started talking about an old man who kept coming into his room and waking him up, pinching him. My son said the old man’s name was Bob. We had lots of strange things go on and then, all of a sudden it just stopped. Strange, but the feeling in the house felt calmer and lighter. I just put it down a little boys imagination and me watching too many scary films. Months later, with never a mention of what had gone on, my son was going to his room one day. He stopped at my bedroom door, looked in my room and casually said, ‘Bob’s back! ‘..... Gave me the chills. So yes, I now believe in ghosts.

But their experiences aren't proof. They are evidence, but nobody can know for sure how much those memories of those experiences can be trusted. Were they in a hypnagogic or hypnapompic state at the time? Could it be explained by a natural phenomenon? Might the person be mentally ill or under great stress? Could they be lying or seeking attention?

I'm not saying any of the above applies to everyone. I completely believe that a lot of people have experiences that they can't explain, but that doesn't mean the answer is supernatural, only that it is unexplained. You can't claim the explanation to be supernatural, as that is providing an explanation, without the supernatural having first been proven to exist. And there is no empiric, scientific evidence for it yet, I'm afraid, even after all these years.

Now can you illustrate why these manifestations were not manifestations of your mind ?

Because they certainly were not projections of energy from entries once living

Do you think? Was the light you saw reflected , emitted or projected by other form into your brain

Obviously if the light was emitted or reflected a picture could be taken

Often it is said no pic can be taken that means whatever is causing the brain to metaphorically see is actually using the brains sophisticated image generation hardware

Optical illusions occur hourly our brain fills in millions of gaps without your awareness, why it seems unthinkable one of these times it makes up what you perceived as ghost is beyond reason ?

"When we first moved into our old cottage....it was just me and my 2 kids, my little boy started talking about an old man who kept coming into his room and waking him up, pinching him. So yes, I now believe in ghosts."

Spirits focus on the young because of there innocents using them as a portal to relay messeges to someone they are trying to contact “ sometimes “.

Well, he certainly hasn't provided any evidence at all for it. I could just as easily say that ghosts are past and future people happening upon our time due to some sort of space-time phenomenon. It sounds interesting, but I have zero evidence to provide for it. But hey, it sounds like it could be a good idea, so why not, I think I'll choose to believe it...

To my knowledge there is collaborative data to support your hypothesis

Mr einstein's relativity gives plausibility to future people moving in time

However that's a far stretch from a convincing piece of data , yet vastly more data and plausible than people possessing souls let alone these floating around appearing to random people randomly after the original brain has passed

No you have witnessed something somehow

Activity as you say is the least plausible and with zero evidence

Here is a supposition

I’m a believer!

The day before my mums funeral I was cleaning her house. I was alone there locked in. The toilet flushed itself and the vacuum switched itself on. Explain that!

I also attended a ghost hunt at Armley Mills in Leeds, we put our torches on the floor and mine was switched on and off when asked ‘is anyone there show yourselves’. I was also pushed in the back at the theatre, wall was behind me. Explain that too.....

"I've seen three and felt my dog jump on my bed, turn around in circles as they do to find a comfortable spot then lay down next to me. Thing is she was put down awhile ago.

I was a older kid and then a teenager during those occurrences. So I wasn't d*unk nor on drugs. Hand on heart, I know what I saw and I'm honestly not lying about any of it."

Funny thing that 2 of the ghosts I saw were dogs, mum says she still sees her 2 BC around her house.

Haha so a ghost thought I know I will flush the toilet and turn the Hoover on?

It didn't happen. Ghosts are a man made phenomenon.

Anecdotes count as zero evidence absolutely fucking zero.

There is not one single piece of evidence ghosts are real

I know this much... I've seen plenty of dead bodies and believe me.. they're dead.

Ghosts or tingly sensations from the other side ain't people. When our bodies either rot or are cremated the fat, flesh and liquids go fairly quickly. The skeleton stays around a bit longer. The parts of our body which make us "US" is our DNA. The total volume of our body's DNA would be about enough to make a splash in an egg-cup. The rest is just flesh, fat, a wee bar of Iron, Calcium and water. Oh yeah and undigested food (yuk).

I often think of my late brother. Not as if he is dead (though he is certainly that) but that he is off busy doing something else in the Universe. And he kinda is. Well most of his Matter and Energy is dissipating around the Earth. Some of him was even recycled for other people to use.

So whatever people are seeing as ghostly people ain't people... these things can only be hallucinations or some some intra-dimensional energy distortion. Too many stories, legends and affidavits for them ALL to be false. We know most of the Energy and Matter in the Universe cannot be accounted for. Physics is now discovering Forces, Matter and Particles which were only theoretically predicted 60 years ago ...are actually real.

I don't believe in Guardian Angels or any such thing. But I do think some people have a sensitivity to some of the Matter, Energies and Forces which occasionally "ping" into our sphere of existence from their own. Doesn't mean they are "ghosts" but it simply means we cannot account for these experiences - yet. Check out the late Professor Archie Roy of Glasgow University. Physicist, Astronomer and Paranormal Investigator.

Nope for the exact same reasons i think ghosts are nonsense.

I mean seripusly the physics of what people describe in here would make ghosts either incredibly easy to detect and make themba well known fact of life or potentially make them the answer to all our energy problems, space flight, interstellar travel, general commuting, medicine, a cure for cancer and a revolution in resturant design

Here's the facts

There are hundreds of God concepts

All fully formed, and intricate, idyosyncratically describing the exact nature of , rules from and actions performed

However the rub is they all contradict each other many such as the Judaisic contradict within their own pages

The fact this reveals is even if one concept might hold a grain of truth all others and every line of text written to form the concept has come from the fertile imagination of human minds , not only that but new made up God concepts attributes and rules are being imagined still and ongoing

So I'm an atheist I have no concept of God to believe in I dont need to private message

And as above no afterlife concept would give me comfort

I like accepting death as final, that itself is a huge positive for me fulfilling a full happy and worth while life

For fucks sake seriously if one could not die and losing our body ment we have super powers one could be convinced to lose the human body for an eternity of floating

Another fact would be regarding optical, aural etc illusions

We experience a world constructed by our brains

Much of what we think we see hear smell taste even touch are modified by our brains

You cannot determine if you are experiencing many illusions or what the brain has modified

Without doubt and with substantive data , some humans do lie , embellish, distort the truth when telling other humans stories they want to sound convincing thus although I dont directly suggest anyone here is , statistically it is beyond plausible onto the probable scale , and absolutely solid reason not to take anecdotal stories as proof of anything without substantial verifiable collaborative data x

As a teenager, I use to read "true" ghost stories and as I said earlier I have experienced a few unexplained things.

So definitely on the fence with this one.

However I digress, a couple of explanations were put forward for ghosts.

One was that you were seeing the actual person through a tear in time/space, the other, was that through the exact conditions you were watching some sort of recording.

Regarding older ghosts, there are many recorded sightings of Romans but I can't remember any cave men.

Ghost sightings have pretty much been recorded since man started recording their lives, whether spoken or written, so maybe there were cave man ghosts and that ghosts have a shelf life and fade away over the years.

One final thing, the correct English spelling of ghost is host, however when books were first printed the German printers brought over to England added the h...

Both of those explanations though would be readily detectible i mean we map the exact gravity of earth and detect the spin of orbiting black holes galaxies away. Something "tearing through space time" on earth would play havoc with our instruments.

And a recording that lasts centuries? Damn the energy required for that electric vehicles would run on ghosts because once weve observed it it could be replicated (not like we're short of dying people)

I don't believe in any religion.

To believe in God is sticking two fingers up at science.

Ghosts are just a part of religion. Something is unexplainable so an answer is needed. People use it as comfort also.

Ghosts are just a part of religion. Something is unexplainable so an answer is needed. People use it as comfort also.

Where are the dogs cats cows mice and all the other dead animals?

Our brains are easily confused a d reading the replies on here some more than others.

Where are the ghosts of people before they are born as the concept is no more crazy than post life ghosts

I totally agree "

It would be so small you couldn't see it...

I believe in ghosts, and the majority of people that say they don't, probably wouldn't be willing to spend a night alone in a building that is supposedly haunted
