Absolutely. And of course the ultimate question is - What do you get if you multiply six by nine. |

Radio first, and you missed out records, computer game and towel.
That doesn't add to the confusion at all, does it?
"
Was it a radio show before it was a book? |

"Prefer the life of brian "
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So, ...
Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]

"In the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy books/tv/film

Was it a radio show before it was a book? "
Yes.
Hence my use of the word "first" after the word "Radio".. |

I grew up after they’d started so I read the books first and just generally assumed they were written first like most tv shows these days |

I sometimes feel as though I have never given someone a new life like a having a baby but I’ve helped hundreds of dogs and rescued them. That was my true meaning of life. To help those that can’t help themselves. Animals have no voices x |

Temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now.

"To keep the human race replenished .
That’s it ."
Sometimes I think there's a little too much of that going on.
Personally I think it's a combination of enjoying your time here as much as possible (however short/long) and leaving the world in abetter state than when you arrived, whether that's a small detail or a huge change.
You don't have to reproduce to benefit the future generations.

The purpose of life to me, is to try to do minimal damage, and somewhere near as many good things as bad ones. Then slip away quietly when everyone is distracted. |

Meaning of life...
Is to NOT fall into the trap of an endless persuit of money.. to take value from the present and live as best you can, understanding that the people that touch your life will not be perfect so give them a chance and you may discover value, happiness and most importantly true love...I did, she’s my wife, my love of twenty years and perfection personified..
Just my thought.. |

True. But if it wasn't the aspiration for so many then there'd be less pressure on limited resources.
Given the number of 'parents' who never see their kids or show any interest in bringing the them up then maybe not having any would be a good move for some.

To not just be alive, but to live. TO make mistakes, to learn, to sit back one day with a million memories of decisions leading to you to where you are.
Hopefully with a legacy and stories to leave behind. |

For me it’s new experiences, pushing myself, changing someone else’s life for the better. To make a small positive difference to the world. To love love and love and feel loved |

Nope, definitely 42
..and I reckon this is why...
Deep Thought, after seven million years, concluded the Meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything could be whatever anyone wanted it to be. But, being a computer, expressed it as an absolute value.
In programming/coding, such a wild card (a non-defined value, a bit like a blank piece in scrabble) can be represented as an asterisk - and * = ASCII 42
