Giving oral is an art form and like all art what's good is subjective. Some men enjoy more vigorous Bj's and get off from them while others prefer a more sensual approach. Some just climax as soon as your mouth wraps around them while some take longer or can't. If the man just can't through oral but can through intercourse I think it's a mental factor inhibiting him.

Not so. I abstain from pleasuring myself, the mind is completey clear too. My issue is, after several minutes I get overly sensitive... this then alternates to becoming desensitised.

Well, you've exposed my limited knowledge of the problem here. Certainly some form of erectile dysfunction here but not one I've come across googling before.
