Brockmans with Tonic, ice and a sliver of Grapefruit peel. Or my own home made Damson Gin, I haven’t made any for a while though.
If anyone gets the chance go to the Evil Eye bar in York. More Gins than you can shake a hairy stick at, the bar staff really know what they’re doing and will knock you up a great Gin or cocktail to suit your tastes. |

I'm not keen on the flavoured ones.
Monkey 47 is my favourite by a mile. Sipsmiths, Hendricks and Bloom closely behind. I usually have it with the Mediterranean fever tree and a slice of grapefruit/Orange or a strawberry |

My current favourite is La Republica from craft gin club. It featured in January’s gin box from them. They sourced and imported limited amounts and it’s not available to buy anywhere else in the UK. It comes from Bolivia and has some very unusual botanicals in it, I’ve never tasted anything remotely similar. I would go so far as to say it’s the best gin I’ve ever had!
My ginventory is getting rather huge now, I’m spoiled for choice. I like my gin served with tonic but I’m not averse to a cocktail made with it too |

I seem to have got a bit obsessed with gin recently... Seem to have far too many.
Gin Mare fave supermarket one followed my Malfy Rosa
Tarquins Sea Dog is always in my cupboard.
La Republican from Bolivia (just launching in U.K.) my latest find
Make sure you use giant ice cubes!
Hmm |

It’s so good that when they sent the email offering the opportunity to buy another bottle I jumped at the chance!
I signed up for the 3monthly boxes but seriously thinking of changing it to get it every month |

I debated about buying but promised myself I'd have a one in, one out policy as I'd run out of space. May yet crack!
Worth keeping an eye out for offers. Oddly it worked out that buying a gift package for myself was cheaper - just use a different email address. |

I don’t like flavoured gins at all.
Like my gin to taste of gin.
Hendricks,
Plymouth
London no 1 are my favourites all with tonic.
When I was younger and gin was a bit less refined in its taste, a bit more raw and fuel like, when Gordon’s was all they served behind the bar, I use to drink it with a dash of lime cordial

Stop all this nonsense! A G&T used to be such an easy drink to order.
“a G&T please, ice and a slice “. Quick to make - dispense so considerate to others waiting to be served. Now:-
“What gin would you like “? Fucking millions now to look at.
“Schweppes or Fever Tree”?
“What flavour “?
“Regular or slim line”?
“Lemon, lime, cu fucking cumber”?
“Ice, fresh or frozen”?
Anyway, I make a better one at home. Proper measure as well. None of this ‘sixth of a gill’ nonsense! |

Another vote for the Bloody shiraz here as my fave flavoured gin!
My favourite non-flavoured gin is a new pre-Christmas discovery called Garden Tiger. It’s lovely!
Ginventory is a great app for anyone who wants ideas for what garnishes and tonics to use with a particular gin, although I’m a big fan of going with what you actually enjoy instead of their being rights and wrongs

Sixth of a gill? How long is it since you’ve ordered spirits in a pub? Theyobeen using metric measurements for donkeys years, must be over 20 years! |

Yep, thanks x Tends to often be the same few places, so was looking for others, especially a good physical shop. I also wish the app was a little better too, but that's another story!
Amazon throws up the occasional gem - got four during Black Friday (including Anno, 60% proof!!) at an average of 40% off. Just harder to browse what's on offer - camelcamel lets you watch specific ones though.

I love the range from Malfy, an Italian producer.
For those that like Silent Pool, see if you can get Hidden Curiousites. It's made by a lovely girl in their distillery and the bottle is amazing.
Drinking at home? Make ice cubes with tonic or lime cordial. Doesn't water your gin down too much then. |

It's quite simple. Most gin is "built" on a base neutral alcohol and then flavoured. John Lewis do a kit (others are available but dahlink, I wouldn't be seen anywhere else ) - just need very cheap vodka (ironic juxtaposition ...) to make.
Distilling is very different and what I'm debating about doing next. But lots of rules and laws around it, so have to be careful! |
