sometimes do if I have run up an overdraft I cannot pay by the end of the month. That is rare however, as I do not like debt.

Won't have one here.

Enjoyed playing with them a few years back but then someone told me I had to pay the money back. Bloody cheek! With interest too!

A lot of companies prefer people to make payments using credit cards which would be amusing if not scary when you consider that in order to buy something, you would need to borrow the money - even if you had it - & pay it back within 30 days or pay interest.

Try not having a credit card - every 2nd letter postie puts through the letter box is offering great advice on how to increase your credit score, i.e. sign up for their new credit card.

Changing credit cards on a regular basis is the best way of avoiding interest payments but - beware - this only works for the most disciplined consumer & not for the more laid back.

Credit cards = Me no likey.

Ian.

I will always buy large items on a credit card for the protection they offer against non delivery, liquidation etc.

They serve a great purpose but you must be disciplined

O o O oo

I only use a CC to use if I am buying something off the net , I pay it off when the bill comes in, so the interest charges don't apply.

To be honest though, if I did have a balance I can't see me messing about changing cards.

very valid point as the limits are a lot less than before the banking crisis, well to start with then they grow..
