Remember muscle weighs more than fat, so you may see an increase on the scales but it will be your body switching between the 2

Weight loss isn't a linear process, it will go up and down week to week, mostly due to a shift in the amount of water weight you're carrying at any one time which varies massively when dieting. As long as the fat is disappearing, you're on the right track.

If I was you I would focus less on weight loss and more on inch loss. Measure hips waist and tum and go on from there. Remember it takes time to lose weight so stands to reason the same would apply in reverse

I agree. I drink water all day long together with fruit and herbal teas. So no change there. But I cut out sugar and lost 12kg in 3 months.

It does work, OP

If you don't really want to lose weight for you then you won't. Simple as that. If you really want it and you're focused you'll do it. It's more to do with what you eat and changing your eating habits and attitude and less about going to the gym. I lost nearly 4 stone without seeing foot in a gym or joining a faddy slimming club. Slimming world and weight watchers wouldn't be successful businesses if they actually worked and people kept the weight off

80% type of diet 20% gym. I have dropped 7kg since December without even really trying and as you can see from my picture I wasn’t overly heavy to start. Food first walking and gym is the way forward.

Unfortunately that’s a myth. A 1lb of fat weighs the same as 1lb of muscle. Just as 20kg of coal weighs the same as 20kg of feathers they both still weigh 20kgs. The weights the same but the size is different.

Don't hate yourself. You're doing something to get healthier, that's a positive and you should be proud that you want to look after yourself.

The weight will come off eventually the longer you stick at it, your body will tone up, it'll just take a while.

I'd focus more on finding how to make exercising fun for you then you're more likely to stick at it because you're enjoying yourself.

definitely do this especially with exercising. The amount of times I've been good all week and then I weigh myself and I haven't lost anything even put a little bit on and I've been so disheartened. Are actually on those weeks normally I haven't lost any weight but I'd lost inches.

You can’t out train a bad diet. Exercise only accounts for about 20% weight loss but is a great motivator.

Just dump carbs.

Although this can be true generally it is viciously hard to add muscle on a calorific deficit

In most cases of adding weight it will be eating more than the person realizes or accepts, water carbohydrates and hormones can have intermittent effects but these can be understood and controlled for x

You MUST not diet ever again

Your goal can be achived with a lifestyle eating change

Correct eating needs to be habitual xxx

Density is what he is refering to.

1cm^3 of muscle weighs more than 1cm^3 of fat.

So a smaller muscled person can weigh the same or more than a bigger fat person.

You won't be alone in hating your body. Loads of us have similar thoughts from time to time. Strangely though you may find you are the only person that hates it! Noone else does. Look great from the photos.

Just remember to do it for you and take your time losing weight & improving fitness. Best way to maintain weight loss in the long term.

You wont out on anything like that level of muscle.

For a woman getting a even teenage bboyish level of muscle requires phenomenal amounts of work.

Its like lads turning up to the gym going "i dont want to get too big"...you wont mate no one accidentally gets big lol

I weight train. I get told all the time I'll end up looking like a man or otherwise awful.

I was told by someone who knows that for me to look like that, I'd probably need a time machine to go back 15 years, a 6 day a week gym habit, and roids.

Don't know what I'll look like as I lose more weight, but my money is on defined with slightly different curves to the ones I have now.
