Backs gone

Was doing some stuff around the house yesterday and putting things together while sat on the floor. (Really need to get a work bench or dining table) Stood up and absolutley couldnt stand up straight.

Done foam roller and slept on it and backs not too painful now but still stiff as hell, im having to squat to pick things up.

really not looking forward to crawling through confined spaces at work tonight

10% looking for things that help orhers woth bad backs 90% looking for sympathy

Keep moving, take paracetamol and ibuprofen at regular intervals.

Lie on the floor pull your knees to your chest and move legs from one side to the other, repeat several times.

Hope it improves.

More foam rolling, and maybe some dead hangs if you have any pull-up bars available. Dead hangs are also great for your shoulder health!

I also recommend lying around all day, eating too much and feeling sorry for yourself

This is my plan but at 8pm i gotta go do nightshift

The whiskey is looks so tempting but i cant have any

Roll a bath sheet up in to a sausage that's roughly the length of your spine and lie on it.

You'll feel like you want to tense up but if you let your body go, it will mould round it to help

Depends what the problem is. If it's a muscle spasm some Voltarol will help.

A deep tissue massage by a skilled massage therapist will do the trick, but it will hurt.

Ibuprofen and hot water bottle.

Hot bath and wait it out.

I think at this point its a multitude of things from bike crashes, to injury at work, to the awkward positions i have to work in and working above my head etc

Normally its just painin the mid back, this time though its like my whole lower back is just solid kinds like when youre leg goes to sleep it jist doesnt want to move.

Yeah deep tissue massage is fantastic used to get it on insurnace and through work physio but they changed the physio current one is terrible so thats out the window.

Its days like this i miss having boxes full of opiates

A massage I had practically cured my muscle spasms. I used to be off my feet for 2-3 weeks before I had it. Since then I've only had a few minor twinge and one whole day of being careful with it.

No sudden movements or twisting; especially bending and twisting.

When my back was bad I used to get the urge to hang by the hands from the top of the kids' swing.

Massage keeps me good for about a week. But i think a deep tissue/sports massage runs about 50 quid so soon adds up.

I have a big knobly foam roller for that

But theres no way to do the individual vertebrae movements they do in a proper massage solo.

Sort of thumb either side of the bone and very gently move it side to side a tiny amount

24 hr Voltarol and Ibuprofen, move about as much as you can.

A Chiropractor visit might help.

Ouch I did mine at the gym I feel your pain Strap it up if you have one and alternate between icing it and heat Paracetamol is better to start with rather than Ibuprofen according to a nurse friend of mine

Ouch OP feeling your pain, Y is currently 4 days post op recovery so back is gone along with were she had her surgery, thankfully she's managing her pain with prescription oramorph... Rest up when you can Op. X

Yeah it seemed to reach a few spots the foam roller couldnt get to crack.

Thanks for that.

Tens machine has loosened uo the muscles a bit too and found an old tube of voltarol to take tk work to ight

I suffer with my back and visit the osteopath every few weeks which helps but in between when it’s bad I use a Cura Heat heat belt
