They end up begging me to stop and forget why they needed cheering up in the first place |

Tell them all the good things I like about them and why. Look for the positives in a situation they can't see yet.
Most importantly of all, I try to listen, prove that they matter to me. |

Greatly depends on the person and situation if course
But generic go to is try to be funny, get my dogs around them (dogs are a great therapy) and try to get them out of the house, even if it is just a walk with the dogs. |

I don't think I have a specific method for cheering someone up, i guess it depends on who they are and what the problem is. On my last "cheering up" mission, I took my friend out for a champagne balloon flight. I hated it, they loved it, so I think it helped. |
