Yeah, mainly in the leafy suburbs in the south of the city.

Not to be confused by plazzies, those ones on holiday who say they’re from Liverpool when they mean Wallasey

Tbf you can’t always tell and I am not sure it matters that much what bit of Liverpool you are from.

Some people who were born and raised on a private street and spent their childhood riding their pedigree horses through the alps (whilst mummy and daddy were busy killing kittens ??) will hit puberty and force some try hard ‘inner city’ noise out of their nose and glutteral k flem all over the TT (90’s girl here) they got for turning 17. They will then pretend that they got the car through pimpin der bitch laaa.

Then you get people who just want to communicate without sounding like a charcuterie of a ‘scal’ who love their city and speak like they have a brain.

There are people in the middle

There are wools.

In addition to my earlier post you maybe able to count people (aged 40 plus) from alerton and penny lane way. Although we lived in L6 my mum had friends around that way and I remember most of them having softer accents, never heard any ‘how now brown cow’ stuff tho unless they were putting it on for some social mobility reason or maybe studied in that there London for a while and decided to misappropriate their southern banker (replace the b ) chums.

Feel like I am taking over now lol x

POSH originally stood for ‘port out starboard home’ which back in the day was the first class of the long voyager ships.

The titanic was launched from Liverpool and it was a rich city I am sure there still are a few ancestors of the millionaires merchants who didn’t get on that day.

Technically being posh has nothing to do with the accent xxx

Being perdantic now, soz, will get my coat.

Also hello to all the scouse stereotype comments

In addition to my earlier post you maybe able to count people (aged 40 plus) from alerton and penny lane way. Although we lived in L6 my mum had friends around that way and I remember most of them having softer accents, never heard any ‘how now brown cow’ stuff tho unless they were putting it on for some social mobility reason or maybe studied in that there London for a while and decided to misappropriate their southern banker (replace the b ) chums.

That's very true. That's one of the perfect examples of the accent. "

That’s where most of the Beatles were born and raised anyway, they were educated middle class boys. That’s probably where the other poster recognised Paul Mc’s accent from.

"Course!! I'm nicknamed posh Manc so there must be a Scouse equivalent..

Likewise I’m a posh manc too

Definitely no such thing as posh scouse though I’m not having that!

Ha ha I've met a few very well spoken scousers.. the Wirral has some posh guys!

See! Well spoken scouse is probably more accurate haha but it's known as posh scouse.

Ok well it’s a bit like ghosts to me. I need to see it to believe it! Name me a famous posh scouser then?"

Manchester

Some would say posh others well spoken. Having moved around a lot and lost a lot of the accent. So possibly fall into that 'posh' category
