There's a story here on the local news how a 29 year old man lived in the same house as his dead father for 5 months to claim just £1200
How the hell could you do that? There's some sick people in this world |

Was it for the money ?
I doubt it.
As you say - How could anybody do that.
Maybe the mentally ill.
The socially inept.
The morally confused.
The desparate.
I'll wait a while and see before I pronounce them evil. |

I agree, most likely socially inept, and/or mentally ill. Not everone knows what to do when someone dies, and the thought of the cost and arranging a funeral can be very scary. I cant see anyone living with a corpse just for the money, the mess and smell of a decomp. body is horrendous. |

interrsting one. my first thought was mental health issues. it would be near impossible to live with a body that was decomposing for 5 months. but surprisingly simple to take steps to minimise if not near enoufh eliminate it. |

I can't imagine the house would have been that spic and span anyway so would the smell of a rotting corpse have permeated through the stench already there?
A corpse doesn't smell after a while anyway. |

If you get the chance go to see Dream Of A Life, its about Joyce Carol Vincent, a bright intelligent vivacious woman who died in her flat but wasn't discovered until 3 years later.
Really sad film and very thought provoking. |

That's what is so shocking about it, she had 3 sisters, lots of friends was working for a bank, no mental health issues.
Just dropped of the radar. |

Ive just found an article about her life, unbelivable that so many people knew her and loved her and yet her death went unoticed for so long
The assumption that everyone thought she was off having a great life is really sad |

Its a shame that the film didn't get much distribution in the mainstream cinemas, I had to hunt it down and go and see it at The Lighthouse Theatre, which has 50 seats.
If it ain't got bombs bullets and boobs in films find it hard to get wide spread distribution. |
