Neither
It’s the meat eaters who go on and on about how much they hate vegans and how all vegans go on about is being vegan that annoy me. I’m friends with plenty of vegans and vegetarians and I’ve never met one who judges anyone else for eating meat, tries to persuade anyone to stop eating meat, or goes on and on about it (unless I ask them a question about being a vegan or vegetarian). |

"What's a FANATIC vegan O.P. ?
What's a FANATIC meat eater ?
I need to know before I can make a decision.
So when YOU find out just tell me please "
Somebody who absolutely hates any kind of vegetables or fruit for food, except meat.
Somebody who hates any kind of product derived from animals, respectively...... |

Nope. Not everyone who dislikes meat is fanatical about it.
Not everyone who dislikes animal produce is fanatical.
What do you mean by a fanatic.
I can wait until you know what it is and can tell me. Then I can make my mind up xx Thanks xx |

Nope. I'm vegan. I don't hate meat or meat eaters or animal produce. I don't use them but I don't hate. |

Neither whatever is their choice is up to them as long as they don't try to force their choices on me.
I am a happy meat eater. I used to be vegetarian and I enjoy meals without meat, although steak is now my fave meal. I could never eat a vegan diet but tip my hat to those that can and enjoy doing so. |

I remember listening to made in Chelsea’s Lucy Watson going on about the cruelty to animals being killed for meat, having their throat slit, stunned or whatever. It’s like get a fucking grip it’s a cow/pig/sheep whatever. We have been eating animals since the dinosaur days and to be honest worrying about animals is way down on societies list of priorities. |

The ones who are trying to guilt trip the world into going vegan, and calling meat eaters murderers and perpetuators of a holocaust. Did you believe that most of us would be converted by such insults? Did you think we would react positively and say, “Oh, yeah. Thanks for pointing out what a horrible, mass-murdering carnivore I am. I shall go forth and sin no more and smugly eat my bean sprout and tofurkey salad while sharing graphic images of what goes on inside slaughterhouses on Facebook.” |

That's the problem. It isn't the least.
Being vegan would help reduce a lot of global warming.
Oh shit fuck ..... now i've said vegan again. Clamp my tits in a vice and whip me.
A lot of people made the change to veganism to help with climate change. NOT because they hate meat or meat eaters.
There's a lot of ignorance around |

A fanatic anyone to be honest "
This! Although, i do have eye rolling moments. I have just transitioned to a whole food plant based diet. On Friday, i was telling my mate. First thing he said. Not joking either...where are you going to get your Protein from? Human need to eat meat! I told him to read more. |

I really don't want to offer my opinion because I am interested to see what other people feel. Suffice it to say that I have a w i d e-ranging spectrum of foods that I like and I really appreciate the benefits of vegetables. However, in response to a previous comment....the equation of raping a woman to the artificial insemination of a cow is, a pretty good example of fanaticism. (btw that opinion was actually expressed by somebody on This Morning, I haven't made it up) |

This
We all have our views and opinions and lead our lives the way that pleases us.
However, none of us have the right to be fanatical and say anyone else’s choice is wrong |

Here are some examples of the guilt tripping....
“If you are a feminist and are not a vegan, you are ignoring the exploitation of female nonhumans and the commodification of their reproductive processes, as well as the destruction of their relationship with their babies.”
“If you embrace nonviolence but are not a vegan, then words of nonviolence come out of your mouth as the products of torture and death go into it.” |

We have meat free meals at least once a week(Baked potatoes usually) but we're omnivores and eat a mixed diet. My questions to the non meat eaters who do it for the sake of the animal is...What do you think will happen to all the cows and sheep that we don't eat? Do you honestly expect farmers to keep flocks of animals alive that they can't make money on or will they all be slaughtered, thereby negating their reasons for giving up meat in the first place. |

"A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral."-Leo Tolstoy.
This statement had a profound effect on me. One that warrants a second thought.
How we treat animals as a race is fairly despicable.
Then there is the environmental impact. Whether you believe in climate change or not. There are other environmental consequences to the meat industry.
There are also health benefits of not consuming animal products and following a vegan/vegetarian diet.
Anyone interested in a good documentary. Try any or all of the following;
?Earthlings(youtube)
?Forks over Knives(netflix)
?Cowspiracy(netflix)
?What the health(netflix)
?Food inc.(netflix)
The first two will undoubtedly make you think, if you watch it all. Extremely thought provoking in different ways. Honestly worth a watch even if you have no thought of any dietary changes.
This is more of a suggestion, rather than a fanatical splurge |

For a lot of vegans and veggies it's more about a hatred for the meat industry and the way it's done. If you wanna eat meat buy a cow, raise it and kill it yourself. You'd actually save a fortune as well and be sorted for near a year.
Just makes no sense to destroy forests, the lungs of the earth, to plant vegetables to feed the animals we eat?? Totally destroying everything in our wake for the sake of hamburgers. We're supposed to be intelligent I thought??
There's more iron in a spoon of spirulina than there is in a steak as well so I never get that argument.
I dunno. Just do what you think is right and do what you do, let me do what I do. And things should he alright haha.
Any fanatic is a bit mad anyways no matter what the subject may be! |

Neither meat eaters nor vegans annoy me. I don't like fanatics about anything as they are typically misinformed, idealistic and can be dangerous.
I don't like anyone who judges anyone based on the food they eat! Nothing is more irrelevant to someone than another person's stomach content!
The meat eaters on this thread that have openly berated vegans and veganism based on morning TV bias (pierce morgan fans maybe? Pmsl) in my opinion they come across as simple minded, ignorant, arrogant & lazy.
Traits I find far less desirable than any diet! Read a book, do some actual research!
The 'eating meat since dinosaurs' comment about ended me. Please read more!! Hahahahaha

Sadly, I find that it is precisely the simple-minded, ignorant, arrogant and lazy people who equate the value of life of a human being to that of a quadruped who are getting most of the attention and they are turning more people away from them than bringing them to their cause.
For me personally, reading this
https://www.thelocal.no/20161130/in-norway-no-meat-is-not-an-option
has done a lot more to make me DRASTICALLY reduce my meat consumption than a raging idiot who calls me a MURDERER because I eat chicken....just a thought.... |
