Last week Aldi or Lidl were criticised for selling something they called a flexetarian burger. It's a burger containing both meat and beans. Is that a new word for people who are half vegetarian? Bit confusing all of these names. I eat meat and vegetables. Does that make me a flexatarian? |

I'm pretty sure that the frozen burgers my dear mum used to buy when I was a wee nipper had lots of other ingredients too. I'd be surprised if they had even 50% beef in them to be fair |

"I usually eat burger with no salad... Most food poisoning comes from salad "
Not if you wash it properly first!
You are more likely to get food poisoning from under cooking meat products than from salad. |

I think they’re trying to be a little more responsible. The name is stupid but I get the idea which is essentially providing a product that’s meat but, less meat. Just have to watch the news to see that beef production is the latest thing to be targeted by the green brigade |

"I did a food handling course years ago and most food poisoning definitely comes from salad. Washing makes the risk worse.."
What are you supposed to do with it?
I don't think it's a great name for the burger. Flexitarian suggests you flex between veggie, vegan and meat. The people I have met that describe themselves as flexitarians are about 80% vegetarian but will have fish and meat on special occasions.

"Too be fair when they say it's 100% beef then it includes the fat from the meat also. It does not mean it's pure meat. I might be wrong "
Don't forget the eyelids, ears, nipples and arseholes too.
Anything from a moo cow is 'beef'.

"Isnt it just a burger. We can read ingredients if we care whats in it.

All the tasty stuff is secret.
