If you google Exmoor it will tell you where about in the U.K. I live (north Devon)
So why can’t the lovely people on fab who message from say Scotland ask where you live and if you can meet tonight.
I always ask where someone lives if it’s not stated on their profile, google it if I don’t know the area and then decide if a journey is worth it. As I don’t travel out of my way then it never happens.

I get this so many times Lancashire is a big place and I get I'm in Lancashire do you fancy a coffee or meet?
Erm your an hour an half away from me so I doubt it. |

Well folks in Cardiff think I about 20 miles away, well if you could swim then yes but when you explain where you are they were like I didn’t think it was that far.
I know when we are looking at who is near me etc but it’s not very precise. |

i had a funny experience once i was chatting to a guy from :the midlands" getting on well and talking of having a social I casually asked where he lived so i could google a half way point to meet and he flipped out on me asking why i wanted to know and basically calling me a wannabee stalker. Any one would have thought id asked for his street name and number not just the town  the social didnt happen |

"I always get people from Ireland or Northern Ireland messaging me, I live in Lincolnshire. One guy told me his near me said I was nearby, he was in Belfast, I was in Hull at the time."
I had one the other week 228 miles alway. He said fancy a meet and I said yes, get here tonight and take me out. He said ok where are you??
I then went into a rant saying if you don’t know where I live why ask for a meet! |

I live in Derby and once met a lady from Belfast, mind you I was working in Stranraer at the time, so it was only a ferry ride away |

Totally agree with your points about being at least reasonably near for a meet. Exeter and West Midlands are quite a way separated. I'm in W Midlands. Whereabouts are you when you're there? |

Silly me at my silliest.
Was, well, needing some company, and I saw that there was one of our Yorkie bar munching compadres got some room in his cab.
So I messaged him, messages flew back and forth!!
Yippee!!
Stupid me tho who was in Irvine which is a KA postcode took IV where the trucker was as Irvine.
Didn’t get to taste his Yorkie bar.
IV is Inverness.... |
