Just because someone reads a certain paper doesn’t mean they agree with everything said in it.

I find the problem with tabloid news reporters, and I use the term “news” loosely, is that they sensationalise everything, very often at the expense of truth, for the purpose of selling papers or indeed push a political agenda.

I saw the post online (sun online) wasn't actively seeking it. One story of a under cover reporter who set up a fake account here https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/real-life/8169796/fab-swingers/ and another story about a clubs upcoming event and that they were speaking to 'sources' that didn't exist and claimed to have got 'quotes' from the club even though the club knew nothing about it till published... No realy big issue it's just abit sad that this is 'news' |

It means nothing, every newspaper will have access to probably agency reporters who are members here and any other potential scandle site.
When they have blank space in the paper they buy stories by the inch, they don't care what so long as they get the page printed. |

The repeat of 25,000 people signed up to the site, I would say is debatable lol (she seems quite fascinated by these numbers)...
At least she had a face pic on and was giving a true account of how mentally busy it is for a woman on this site!

Having read the article, I don't see anything particularly wrong with it - yes it's sensationalised, but that's to be expected of the tabloids, it does however pretty much lay it put how this place works though and is an advert as much as anything.

I worked in a newspaper press and we used paper from Canada and north Wales it wasn't recycled and I know as the sister press printed the Sun they didn't use fully paper either as they go with cheapest usually which surprise surprise was Canadian |

I don't think it's a problem. I've read it and it's not that far from the reality. however as some people have already pointed out yes it's sensationalized but that's to be expected from the tabloids.
I do think it's not a bad thing for people to be talking about swinging and people particularly women being sexually liberated. You were always get people that don't understand it and think it's weird. I thought it was weird until I started doing it!

Yes and also for one of my elderly neighbours his daily routine as to get up early and walk to the shop to buy his newspaper. I was chatting to him a few weeks ago and I said I hadn't seen him out for a while and he said no sometimes the only time I get out is to go and get my paper and have a chat with the lady behind the counter. So it works well for him. gets him out of the house and gives him some social interaction. |

The thing is you could write hundreds of different articles in a newspaper about swinging that would be informative and interesting to non swingers but it's easier and more sensationalist to pick the extremes of the spectrum, subjects of minority interest etc, to write about. Even easier to quote from actual forum posts so that you have evidence should the writer be challenged. The " sensation " angle has been done so many times in newspapers or on TV it's just sad. |
