So I am approaching that time of my life where I could if I so choose retire.
How many of you fabbers are retired and wish you had kept on working for a time?

Took early retirement at the end of last year, still getting used to it but healthwise it was a good move as it was a physical job. Good company pension so financially secure. |

Been paying into a pension since I left Uni and hopefully made a couple of wise investments.
I’m retiring as soon as I bloody can. Although I think I will ease into it. My Dad went from high stress at work to doing nothing and had a heart attack. So when he recovered he went back into part time consultancy and then eased into it. |

We both took early retirement, we were about 57.
Neither of us has regretted it for an instant. I occasionally work two days a week but not from choice and we live a modest life. There is so much more to life (for us) than work. |

I aim to cut down in five years to three days till retirement to build up my little business I have at the moment which is my hobby buy one I could happily do more often ..I had a friend who retired and then got depressed she went back to work a couple if days and is now after two years happy to fully retire think secret is to work towards and have things in place to to keep you occupied as a big change can be unsettling |

We both retired early and was best big decision we have made. We find so much to do and enjoy. No rushing around, clock watching, love it, but it may not be for everyone, depends what you like to do in your leisure time and how much you love your job |

I literally went into it overnight. I asked for voluntary redundancy, was given it and because I was over 55 had to take my pension too. I went in to clear my desk and that was it. It helped that I found my job had become utterly soul destrying due to changes. |

We often look at each other and say we can't believe how lucky we are. .
Of course we had to make changes, the biggest being moving to a smaller property that needed (and still needs) work. |
