I just realised that it's been over a fortnight since I had any direct human contact and it's been great So much so that I've cancelled my appointment tomorrow. Do you prefer your solitude, or do you have to be around other people regularly? |

"I don't think its healthy not to have any human contact at all but sadly its very common now especially in big cities like London where people don't even know their neighbours any more."
My parents are very old but go out as much as possible and have visitors almost daily. They complain about them lol but I keep telling them they should count their lucky stars. |

I like my time to myself but ultimately am a people person. |

When I lived alone I used to crave human contact and would go for a walk around the town centre just to have the opportunity for a little chat with other shoppers.
I've been a live in carer for my mum for 6 years now and can't remember the last time I had any solitude. Sometimes I really long for a few hours on my own in silence. It's especially bad in the winter. In the summer I will nip off to the local park for an hour or two and just have a wander in the sunshine.
I don't think too much or too little human contact is healthy for anyone and we need to find a good balance. |

I was rich I think I'd definitely be an eccentric semi-recluse. I love being completely on my own these days, but there are a handful of people I couldn't do without so I'd still let them in. |

It sounds like my elderly mothers situation is similar to your parents!
I always check on my old neighbour every couple of days or so if I haven't seen them around especially in the winter time. |

But you're still interacting online?
Personally I think that that still counts as interacting with people. Human contact to me is different, face to face carries a different nature |

Solitude has much to recommend it.
But it's better to share it with another

I am at the moment yes, I could quite easily fall off the face of the planet for days at a time if I wanted to, immersing my self in something like red dead redemption for days or weeks for example. |

I like my own company after running around after other people all week.
If I don't make plans then I will spend the whole weekend on my own sometimes.
I am usually busy doing something. I rarely feel lonely or need other people. |

My mum gets very cross if someone visits when the news is on the telly and woe betide anyone who phones after 7pm. |
