It has influenced my view of both sexes negatively.
Some of things I see written here make me  especially the attitude of people towards spouses. I knew that some relationships were bad and that some partners disrespected their other half but I had no idea how prevalent it was.
However I can also see that there are good things and great relationships and I know that fab and the forums are a tiny part of humanity |

I was about 40 when i joined fab id already had 40 years experience of the opposite sex. However when i first joined internet sites it opened my eyes. And i have noticed in the last couple of years that guys attitudes to women and sex have changed. Theres always been guys that think women are a piece of meet but over the last couple of years the attitudes of "some" men towards women appalls me and i have to say it is mostly younger guys i see it in. I blame it on being exposed to more hardcore porn. Lack of social skills and that they dont socialize with women in everyday life and spend their whole life sitting in their bedroom wanking to hardcore porn and have lost touch or have a warped perseption of reality and real life women. It saddens me |

I used to think that we single men had difficulty approaching couples because of the attitudes of the female half of the couple. Over the past 6yrs. I have joined the online dating and swinging community on and off. Over that time i have been single for the most part. Before this i had never chatted online or anything. So it was a new world that opened up. To be honest I'm not a fan. I'm an honest person. I like honesty. Unfortunately, the internet breeds lies. It enables deceit. It creates this very unnatural platform to interact on. It changes the whole process of communication. Not for the good either. |

No, I think it's rather short sighted to allow your perception of a whole gender or group of people to be skewed by a few individuals on a website.
People are people, wonderful, complex and fallible, that doesn't change. But to allow yourself to be jaded or bitter and cynical because of a few people's actions does seem rather unfortunate.
Personally I think that if I found myself feeling that, I'd take myself off and do something that reaffirmed my faith in people again rather than let it affect my interactions with others |

i havent used any other sites since i joined fab but im sure it was never this bad. As i say it is the younger guys (under 30 ) that i see it in. Ive seen guys pratically demand hardcore sex acts of women without so much as a hi how are you. No respect. There was a guy on here the other day who was 26 im not saying he was being disresespectful quite the opposite but he was jaded that he hadnt found someone to fulfil all his kinks. |

Looking through the thread it's interesting to me the women who are over 45 and have been swinging for quite a while have said yes it has affected their views negatively, where as myself and at least one other person who is younger and not been swinging as long. Just wondering if this could be a generational thing as in different attitudes or if the longer you do it the more cynical and possibly sceptical you get. I am genuinely interested to see what people think. |

im not sure im cynical what i have done is quieten down as ive gotten older. But there is definetly a change in young guys attitudes. Do you think you dont notice it because you dont know any different and its always been the same. I used to go to swinging clubs for about 15 years and anyone who knows me will be able to tell you i can hold my own but in the end the guys attitudes at one club ground me down in the end and i just stopped going |

I do think that a cynical attitude is more pervasive among those that have been on fab for a longer time yes. I think that a person's cynicism is directly proportionate to the length of their tenure. That's not a hard rule but it's certainly a likely trend. |

Actually I think you could be right because I tend to meet men older than me because I find them more respectful on the whole. Don't get me wrong I think the attitude of some men and women for that matter on this site is atrocious however I often think that in everyday life. |

I do genuinely think that we live in quite an entitled Society particularly my generation and I think that reflects itself on here. So I guess it's natural as you get older and have more life experience do not want to put up with all the bullshit. |

I think we are shaped by who we meet.
I'm sure we all have regretted some decisions but that's the learning curve.
I've been very lucky. Met some lovely women had some fantastic times. And I still do.
But now Ive changed things as in I do dating more which I enjoy as it allows Me more time to find out about her and with a view to meet again.

I think all views are generational to an extent, you can't help being influenced by the time and societal norms of the era you grew up in. I am naturally cynical and always have been however there is a marked difference in the way both men and women are between what my perception was in the 70s and 80s and what it is now. That has been influenced by fab, not swinging in general. Fab and the net in general allows people to express thoughts that they wouldn't feel comfortable saying out loud to other people and the net allows people to access images that most of us probably wouldn't have seen once if at all in a life time. I'm particularly concerned by Incel type posts and the conviction by people who hold similar views that they're right.
I'll be truthful and say that my impression of some men has gone down much more than of some women. However I think the entitlement of some women is equal to that of some men |

I think all views are generational to an extent, you can't help being influenced by the time and societal norms of the era you grew up in. I am naturally cynical and always have been however there is a marked difference in the way both men and women are between what my perception was in the 70s and 80s and what it is now. That has been influenced by fab, not swinging in general. Fab and the net in general allows people to express thoughts that they wouldn't feel comfortable saying out loud to other people and the net allows people to access images that most of us probably wouldn't have seen once if at all in a life time. That's really interesting because I've never had a no-show , I've had plenty of people cancel but never anyone that just hasn't turned up but I have plenty of time wasters and abuse. we've never had a no show but one really bad experience with a couple and one with a single guy at a social meet. We have had one maybe two abusive messages in our time here. I think it is partly due to our age but also our attitude. We can sense bullshit a continent away, we are always respectful but take absolutely no mucking about and we aren't afraid to say no or call someone out.
Younger men tend to show us respect and seem to have an impression of us as being somehow more fragile emotionally and socially, I think they equate older age with naivety  |

we've never had a no show but one really bad experience with a couple and one with a single guy at a social meet. We have had one maybe two abusive messages in our time here. Younger men tend to show us respect and seem to have an impression of us as being somehow more fragile emotionally and socially, I think they equate older age with naivety

Yes it has!
I am so lucky to have a fit, normal, sexy, filthy wife! Shes one in a million, she has no hang ups, always laid back, we never argue, she doesn’t sulk and shes just perfect! When I look at whats out there... well ... put it this way if anything happened to her tomorrow id definitely and without question remain single for the rest of my life. |

Has being a Fab member influenced your views on the opposite sex?
Positively towards women. In the sense that it has enabled me to see how sexually selective they are.
Negatively towards lots of men. Whether they are married and shagging behind wifeys back or they are on here ranting and raving that they can't get a meet or pull in a club. Or even that they are on here with a couples profile and for some unknown reason wifey can't meet. That's before I mention the incels making fake profiles to wind people up.
There's a ton of undiagnosed and untreated mental illness on here. Mainly from the male side of the sexes. #sexualisedrage

It has impacted my view in a negative fashion somewhat. It's also made me view myself in a more negative fashion. I have an excellent bullshit radar, but have recently realised that this can be flawed. To put your trust into someone, only to relise by their actions later on, that you have been decieved, can be a bitter pill to swallow. So my guard is even more up than usual at the moment  |

We're both really net savvy, more so than a lot of younger people. We were in at the start of commercial internet use and have both used it in our jobs ever since.
It's amusing to be patronised by youngsters who see our age and think we won't know how to use the net. |

I've discovered there are mainly 2 types of people on fab.
Those that are desperate for something (be it sex, attention, whatever) and those that aren't.
There's also some lovely people on here and those that are carrying baggage which isn't healthy.
Of course, my opinion is only a sample size due to my interaction. |

Looking through the thread it's interesting to me the women who are over 45 and have been swinging for quite a while have said yes it has affected their views negatively, where as myself and at least one other person who is younger and not been swinging as long. I am genuinely interested to see what people think. im not sure im cynical what i have done is quieten down as ive gotten older. But there is definetly a change in young guys attitudes. Do you think you dont notice it because you dont know any different and its always been the same. I used to go to swinging clubs for about 15 years and anyone who knows me will be able to tell you i can hold my own but in the end the guys attitudes at one club ground me down in the end and i just stopped going

Actually I think you could be right because I tend to meet men older than me because I find them more respectful on the whole. Don't get me wrong I think the attitude of some men and women for that matter on this site is atrocious however I often think that in everyday life.
Perhaps I'm a little out of line but if you take a look at the "how dare you message me" thread I think you will find part of your answer.
I think that a lot of people view their interactions on the internet as not real, they rationalise them as just words on a screen and treat them with callous disregard on occasions, just because they can. "

Nah I’ve been on the internet a long time. I’ve seen lots of shitty behaviour from both sexes. I generally only interact with people I like who may think I’m worth interacting with. Anyone else is white noise most of the time. |
