There and to the left a bit |
"
Ian Dury and the blockheads,(think the blockheads still gig)"
They do - Ian's assistant/bodyguard Derek is on lead vocals - saw Ian Dury & The Blockheads a couple of times, although never as the headline act, and they were amazing live and usually better than the headliner |

Prince.
Without a shadow of doubt the greatest all round live performer there has ever been, and may ever be again.
Was lucky enough to see him a few times, the last being one of his incredible Hit’n’Run shows in London a few years ago. |

Wham
PS
Life lesson 01: Never trust a person who doesn't like Wham...
Another vote for Prince too
Plus Earth Wind and Fire in the Maurice White, Michael Bailey era |

"Prince and the Revolution"
Saw them in 86...best band he had, in my opinion. Although 3rdEyeGirl were bloody good.
The Revolution are playing London next month, won't be the same without him, but going nonetheless. |

Rush are the best live band I’ve seen closely followed by the original Deep Purple lineup then Black Sabbath. Iommi still kills it
Would have loved to see:
The Who
Queen
Hendrix
Zeppelin
Floyd
Fleetwood Mac
Rory Gallagher
To name a few

I wouldn't mind seeing The Sweet...apparently they are touring somewhere, but nowhere close. An absolutely AWESOME band!!!
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers would have been good to see as well.
I'm not a massive fan of concerts though...much prefer the music as they intended you to hear it in its recorded (produced) form. |

TP & the Heartbreakers were brilliant live, was lucky enough to catch their last UK gig at Hyde Park. 60000 people singing along to 'Freefallin' on a beautiful summer's evening...fantastic! |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |

There are two versions now, Andy Scott tours Europe, Steve Priest tours USA. Not sure who gets far east and Australia...
I saw Brian Connollys version many years ago, although sadly his voice had already gone.
In my view, the best way to see those songs live is a generic glam tribute band that can give them the youthful vigour they need. |

Saw Strummer with the Mesceralos and Jones in a pub playing Clash songs, which is pretty close but I would have loved to have seen The Clash.
Other than that, Joy Division and The Smiths from bands that I was just that bit too young to see era.
And while I've seen hundreds of bands live over the last 30 years and have seen many of my favourite bands dozens of times so I try not to dwell on the ones that got away I'm still I'm still at a loss how I never managed to see Sonic Youth live! |

"I’d love to have seen Elton John or Freddie Mercury in their prime they just seem like great showman and it would be a brilliant gig "
JD, I Saw Elton at Wembley 30 odd years ago now. Went with my ex, didn’t want to, but did it as one of those things you do because you’re together. Have to say he was brilliant. How you can rock 10,000 people while sitting behind a piano is a mystery to me. When he did the segment of rock songs , the place was jumping!
Sensational. |

I saw Elton in Vegas. By chance was in Vegas at the same time so managed to catch his ‘Red Piano’ tour. Played mostly 70’s material. Completely blown away. |
