"Does anyone know any good methods to reduce tinnitus volume "
Get your hearing tested. If you need hearing aids, they will help reduce it when worn.
Other than that relaxation and distraction.
If it is really loud or new, see your doctor.

I recently was given a sound speaker that I have on at night beside my bed as tinnitus can keep me from sleeping.
Basically you can select sounds like waves/crickets/heartbeat at the same volume as your tinnitus.
There are a couple of apps similar you can get on your phone and you can set them on timers.

"Background noise so you can't hear it as much.
Yea I do that when I can but trying to get to sleep when silent.. Now tv on but still loud "
Try an app with white/pink/brown noise. You can set a timer to go to sleep with it on.

I attended a course that demonstrated techniques to help me cope with my tinnitus when it first started. Whilst I was on that course there was a man that attempted suicide because he couldn’t cope with the noise. It’s certainly not to be taken lightly.
There was discussion around white noise, not sitting in total silence, gadgets available to distract you from the noise etc. There was also relaxation and distraction techniques. Distraction was a winner for me.
The best advice she gave, which worked on me but not on everyone, was to accept it and not to fight it. The sooner you accept it the sooner you can learn to live with it just being there. Mostly, I don’t notice it now. |

Get to the doctor's, it's not just a result of ear damage it can be a sign of an underlying issue such as high blood pressure.
I suffer from it badly a result of working in building trade, also working at Heathrow airport next to the runways, loud music and a really bad ear infection about 2years ago which resulted in my rh ear drum busting.
Combined with high blood pressure sometimes I can't hear jack shit. |

My sister suffers with it really badly, the only thing that she's found that works for her is a special hearing aid. It doesn't completely take it away but makes it more bearable apparently. |

If you look on youtube there are some long videos labelled something like "tinnitus sound therapy", I find them good. I listen to them at work sometimes, feels really odd when I stop listening.
Would definitely agree about getting a hearing test. There are support groups etc, check out the British Tinnitus Association too |

Leave the toilet seat up. My tinnitus disappears behind the nagging......
Seriously, I’ve never really tried any tips. What I notice is that with alcohol it gets worse. But it’s hit and miss normally about how intrusive it can be of a night. White noise is available on the amazon dot |

I've had it for 12 months, been tested for everything.
Last week saw the specialist, he has ordered a MRI scan to rule out acoustic neuroma.
Best advice see your Gp as it can be related to other conditions. The sooner the better. |

Mine came on when I lost the hearing in one ear. The thing I miss most is never having silence. You just have to train yourself to ignore it.
I did call the tinnitus helpline. I found it just kept ringing though. |

"It can be related to conditions that are treatable or where you can at least improve the problem.
I have menieres disease...

I have MD too and find my tinnitus comes and goes. It gets worse when I'm stressed, which in turn makes me more stressed. This week it's a high pitched whistle.
Low level background noise can distract me and listening to YouTube relaxation videos helps me get to sleep at night

1) Avoid very loud noises, particularly discos
2) Distraction works well for me
3) Treat it as a friend, a useful tool. My tinnitus tells me when I am getting over-tired, and is a great early warning system against any illness. If it gets loud then I take notice and act accordingly! |

sounds the same volume as the tinnitus, jeez it would wake up my street,
my hearing aids do help on a day basis when there is plenty of distracting noises you don't notice it too much
getting to sleep at night is the hardest as thats when background noise is at its quietist,
must look into sound speakers |

With your thumb and forefinger press either side of the earlobe (in acupressure called the master sensorial) and rub in circular movements as often as you can. Also worth getting hearing tested. Hope it helps |

When I got a white noise machine to help me sleep there were lots of good reviews about them from people suffering with tinnitus.
Must be miserable and I hope you find something that helps |

This is exactly mine too.
It got worse when I had the flu. Someone suggested having a music on really really low so your ears focused on it. I did try it and it seemed to work. We also swapped bedrooms so I could hear the steam outside and that did help me. |

Learn to block it!! Only way.. ive had it years
What technique did you use to block it out "
You can buy music with like cracking fire, rain drops etc that seem to drown out this noise. Doesn’t work for everyone. You can get an app on your iPhone with it. |
