I'll attempt my first day properly back at work tomorrow since before Xmas! Anyone else been off sick already this year? Was it too much partying over the festive period or the weather blowing hot and cold?

For me it was catching a chill down in England on my work travels at the start of last week

I’ve been off since Tuesday - had a wee stint in hospital but all good now. I have tomorrow as a holiday, so I’m hoping to be back on Tuesday.

Hope you’re all better OP

Gosh, sounds bad! If you're not better then tomorrow should be taken as a sick day and you'll be entitled to get your day of leave back again

I'm getting there myself thanks... I need to cycle to a meeting tomorrow so just as long as it's not still blowing a gale out there

Beyond the shadows.

I was ill all of last week, first time in 4 years I've been properly ill, I think I overdid it with all the late nights and early mornings in the lead up to the festive period. I'm still not 100% but felt I had to go back to work at it would be building up, wish I had a few more days off.

I'm very very lucky, I have NEVER had time off sick.

I hope you're soon recovered.

Like many people, if I don't go to work, I lose a days pay

Not going in work cos I have a cold is unimaginable

Yeah, I can understand that. I think this is only the second time I stayed home from work without actually working while sick. That's the downside of having a job that doesn't require me to be at my desk in order to do my work! I have been known to take my work on holiday too! Being a bit of a workaholic is an illness in itself I think...

2 years ago even at my age I got chicken pox worst I felt in all my life for about 4 weeks.

Didn't remember I'd never got them as a kid. I caught them from my daughter who was 5 at the time.

I have Ben back to work ... but left early as still feeling awful (from a virus I had since Xmas) it’s just not fully shifting and has made me feel exhausted

Hope you are better very soon! X
