Maybe, but I think he knows that and has adapted in recent years.

He’s done a few duets with up and coming young singers recently where he’s sung very soulfully, but subtely with them. Fitted the music very well.

I’m saying that and I’m not a big fan (heresy for a Welsh person, I know).

A postscript - his performance of Long Time Gone is the best (and funniest) YouTube music clip. It’s extraordinary

He used to be the same age as my mom, who was one of his biggest fans. She might have been a knicker thrower but I don’t want to go there.

He's a true talent who has found all the right ways to stay relevant...the people on the voice the deserve the true praise are the band who pick up the stuff thrown at them with a seconds notice and make it sound like they have played it for years!
