You know those tunes that get you right in the feels?

What are they and what emotion do they trigger?

This might sound silly but Eva Cassidy- Songbird.

A few years ago while shopping in Debenhams the song come on while waiting to pay. I muttered to myself " I love this song" and a women behind me answered " Me too". So for a reason i cannot explain as it is something i would not normally do i asked her to dance. For the next few minutes i was lost in a daze of pure... i dont know what but it was pure. We held each other and just danced slowly in the shop.

Anyway the song ended and we let go. Both slightly embarrassed. We smiled at each other. I paid for my shopping and walked away. I did look over my shoulder and she looked at me, never to be seen again.

As i said silly. I guess im just a tad romantic.

I think that's an amazing story. I was waiting for the "lived happily ever after bit", but it's somehow more powerful, if somewhat sadder, the way it transpired. I'd have loved that brief moment.

I was at a Neil Young gig once and he started playing a 15 minute song. A woman next to me said "play this song next time you make love to a beautiful women". To which I replied:

"that's great, but what do I do for the last 14 min 30 secs of it".

"Regina Spektor - The Call"

I love, absolutely love, Regina. I actually would probably marry her even.

That one passed me by though, and it’s beautiful. Is it from a film?

Samson is the obvious Regina one probably.

I’m not so keen on most of Bleeding Heart, but the last part of it, a minute or so at the end, is just the most beautifully sung thing, and very clever lyrically.

“How long must I wait

Til you learn that it’s not too late?

How long must I cry

Til you know that you really tried?

How long must I try

Til you learn that dreaming’s hard?

How long must I dream

Til you heal your bleeding heart?”
