Wishing you well. It’s horrible being admitted in an emergency. Happened to me twice but both proved to be very beneficial in me managing my health better. I hope they soon give you the help you need quickly. |

If you're stuck in there, particulalrly over the weekend you have my every sympathy. Put spotify on, search out your favourite comedians (especially Billy Connelly and Robin Williams) and listen away. |

"I hope you're able to make a quick exit soon.
Iv already asked if i can go home today lol
Did you like their answer?
Nope "
Boooo, you need to be like a little child and keep asking until you get the answer you want.
Are you in pain? We can all come in and have a little party around your bed if you're not. |

Are they doing tests? First time I was admitted it was 5 days, and the diagnosis- too much salt in my diet, overweight and too much stress.....the upside was I had a full MOT and was given the right cocktail of meds to control my BP. I also stopped smoking the day I was admitted and haven’t smoked since...
Thoughts are with you...x |

Yes, ear plugs. Nothing worse than being ill and then being unable to sleep due to noise. I remember begging Mr to bring me ear plugs when I was admitted many years ago.

Hi, sorry to hear about your hospital admittance. Hopefully it will be a swift discharge but you are in the best place. Even though after my ordeal, I'm not a fan of hospitals. At least I hope you are not bed bound.
Also, if you are going to stay the night, I'd add eye mask to the list of what you need. Ask nursing staff, they should have packs with eye masks and ear plugs. I was eventually given one after I complained that I could not sleep for three days...
Oh, I don't know what the arrangements are in the hospital where you are, but I wouldn't waste money on the bedside entertainment system, unless you can't live without TV. It costs way too much! |

"Lol it feels like prison "
Far too much...! A couple of thoughts:
1. I’d second the ear plugs / sleep mask; they should block out some of the other noise on the ward and help you sleep.
2. Ask someone to bring in provisions (unless the hospital food is suddenly cordon bleu...!)
3. As staff, we tend to assume that patients who are up and dressed are that much readier to go home; perhaps be up, showered and dressed for when the team come round in the morning?
Get well soon x |

I have not long been told i can go home tomorrow morning so wont worry to much about sleep tonight now
Family brought in food, grandchildren ate it lol
I was up, showered and dressed by 9am this morning, it made me feel better plus i wanted to look "well". All the other patients are in nightclothes/in bed/bedbound etc
Thank you xx |

Don't have the toast for breakfast (it's like a limp dead willy). The porridge is like ready brek. Stick to omelettes! Only thing I would eat when I worked on the wards! Get people to bring in books, magazines etc and enjoy the rest. Hope you feel better soon - it's no fun but you will get better xx |

Hey!!!! As someone who spends a lot of time in hospital - next infusion is on Monday - you have to look at the positives! Even if they are the fact you get to see humanities greatest achievement (the nhs) in full swing! Talk to your nurses, they’re generally amazing |
