Is the area you live in exceptionally great? Would you recommend living there?
Advice needed! I've paid enough in rent here, looking to possibly find a new area! But where????
My wants--
Vibrant area (can't be stuck out in a really residential area, I love pubs and cafes--would need a selection, not just one!).
Shops nearby, so I don't have to drive to buy daily essentials.
Quirky, older houses--new builds are boring!
Friendly people!!!
Ideally within a few hours of London? but not essential.
Clubs within a reasonable distance would be fantastic.
Being able to find a job (doing just about anything) would also be helpful.
I don't know England outside of London well enough to even know where to start looking, any ideas? |

There’s lots of areas around the midlands that are very popular, close to the cities but rural enough to not be too impersonal. Good travel links, nice little towns but an hour away from the likes of Birmingham and good shopping. Plus house prices are good x |

We have looked at relocating to Birkdale, which is just outside Southport but also very close to Liverpool. Birkdale is a beautiful village on the coast with a bit of class and very trendy bars and bistros.

Hey EG,
Long time no hear..
So West London is getting you down?
There are some nice villages at the end of the Thames estuary in essex.. yep shock horror.. I said essex.
Great Wakering has a few pubs and shops, a great butchers and its own brewery, and its only 5 minutes from the nearest station which will get you to Fenchurch st in an hour.
Burnham on crouch also fits the bill and again has a main line station into London. |
