Until recently I hadn’t given much thought to my user name , a week ago I also started changing my status update 3-4 times a day ,
I noticed that over the weekend I was getting 80-90 profile views a day ,
Until yesterday I was still using a very seasonal username, now within an hour of the change I started to receive a much larger than normal amount of messages, granted 99% of them were from single guys , however I have now received over 50 new messages in the past day , this is not including messages from people I’m already talking with ,
So I just now wondering how many of you have stopped and considers the effectiveness of regular status updates and the occasional username change .

There and to the left a bit |
I've not but then I'm perfectly happy with the level of interaction I have from the site, but if I felt the need to increase that I'm not sure your method would be what I'd do - I'd prefer to find quality interactions rather than quantity, so would look at things like changing my profile text and pictures to pitentially increase interest levels |

Manchester (he/him) |
Personally I'm not bothered about increasing footfall across my profile, I think that my name, status and profile express me quite well so those that drop by are the kind of people that I'd want to say hello to.

I wouldn't change my username. It's who I am.
I regularly post tongue in cheek status's or occasionally 2 part status's
Christmas day I made a Doctor Who status, my inbox nearly burst!
Obviously people didn't get the joke/reference.
The other day a 2 part one, gym related.
The 2nd part had the same effect.
I really should think better about what I post!

I don't think changing your username brings that about.
Basically any activity that appears in the local search gives you more visibility, mainly uploading pics, status updates and posting verifications etc |

Blimey. That is good work! What the hell are you putting in your status updates.. I think you’ve found the magic formula!! |

Also. As you're not looking to meet single guys does that not mean you don't show up in their updates?
Or does it just work the other way round, you just don't see what you're not looking for? |

Ah just seen your latest status update! All from men! I think you’ve found a gaydar, not the magic straight guy formula!
And I was going to plagiarise your approach too!

I find that my status updates used to draw quite a bit more attention but I can no longer be asked to post interesting facts every 2-3 days.
So you're stuck with the shitty life updates |

It's why I have my filters on or i'd be having the same problem
I'll content myself with one or two unsolicited messages a week and maybe 10-20 views a day...on a stretch |

I never actually changed anything with the intent off trying to stimulate addiction profile views , my previous user name was Santa2018
So as the festive season is now over I felt a change was necessary.
I just noticed that my heightened profile traffic seamed to have been stimulated by these changes |
